Syntherol: what is the shortest needle than can be used?

I got some 27 g 1/2" pins that I want to use in my bis and tris. Would this size needle be fine? My bf is below 8% arms are 19.5" cold. My goal it to add at least an inch on my guns.

I've read where people can get syntherol through a 28 g even. I only can find those small gauge pins in 1/2" size though.

i would say 5/8's at the shortest but i havent used it i would say anything oil based at least that but thats just me.
