Selective androgen receptor modulators (SARM)

Soon we will all start seeing commercials for SARMS just like we do viagra, and all the other drugs they are pushing down our throats while we are trying to watch the news. Once Corporate America aka MERCK starts pushing out commercial after commercial of their new product (ostarine). Then we can all stop using the big bad (steroid) and start using the sweet named (SARMS) lmao, anyways i thought it was a good read this stuff is receptor targeted so i guess no sides which is cool.

GTx, Inc. and Merck & Co., Inc. Enter Global Strategic Collaboration for the Development of SARMs, a Novel Investigational Class of Drugs to Treat Muscle Loss and other Musculoskeletal Conditions
MEMPHIS, Tenn. & WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GTx, Inc. (NASDAQ: GTXI) and Merck & Co., Inc. (NYSE: MRK) today announced an agreement providing for a research and development and global strategic collaboration for selective androgen receptor modulators (SARMs), a new class of drugs with the potential to treat age-related muscle loss (sarcopenia) as well as other musculoskeletal conditions. This collaboration includes GTx's lead SARM candidate, Ostarine™, which is currently being evaluated in a Phase II clinical trial for the treatment of muscle loss in patients with cancer, and establishes a broad SARM collaboration under which GTx and Merck will pool their programs and partner to discover, develop, and commercialize current as well as future SARM molecules. As part of this global agreement, Merck will be responsible for all future costs associated with ongoing development and, if approved, commercialization of Ostarine and other investigational SARMs resulting from the collaboration.

Under the terms of the collaboration agreement and related stock purchase agreement, GTx and Merck will combine their respective SARM research programs. GTx will receive an upfront payment of $40 million plus $15 million in research reimbursements to be paid over the initial three years of the collaboration. In addition, Merck will make an equity investment of $30 million in GTx common stock at a 40 percent premium to the 30 day average closing price. GTx will also be eligible to receive up to $422 million in future milestone payments associated with the development and approval of a drug candidate if multiple indications receive regulatory approval. Additional milestones may be received for the development and approval of other collaboration drug candidates. GTx will receive royalties on any resulting worldwide product revenue.

“By combining our drug candidates, resources and talents, this Merck-GTx collaboration positions both companies for success in the development and commercialization of SARMs,” said Mitchell S. Steiner, M.D., chief executive officer of GTx. “We believe that Ostarine and our other SARMs offer the potential to address a number of unmet medical needs focused on musculoskeletal disorders. GTx believes that Merck has the world class scientific, clinical development, and commercial expertise to capture the potential of the SARM class.”

“By selectively targeting the androgen receptor, SARMs offer a promising alternative to androgen therapy with the potential advantages of oral dosing, tissue selectivity and improved safety and tolerability,” said Alan B. Ezekowitz, MBChB, D.Phil., senior vice president and franchise head, Bone, Respiratory, Immunology, and Endocrine, Merck Research Laboratories. "GTx has established a strong scientific reputation in the research and development of novel SARMs and we look forward to working with Dr. Steiner and his team."

The effectiveness of the collaboration agreement and the investment in GTx common stock by Merck are subject to the expiration or earlier termination of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act, if applicable, as well as other customary closing conditions.

Ostarine, a first in class SARM, has demonstrated the ability to build lean body mass (muscle) in a proof of concept clinical trial and may have the potential to improve physical performance. Ostarine is currently being evaluated in a Phase II clinical trial for the treatment of muscle loss in patients with cancer.

at least actors got jobs

Yep thank goodness for that. LOL. You know I was thinking today about wal mart. If you work there I am sorry, I did by the way... Anyways think of all the jobs that were lost in the us when sam walton died. they outsource to China now and probably have child labor going on. Anyways we have killed ourselves by outsourcing. I also think if we knew how much we owe these place it would be really depressing. Sorry that was my soapbox moment. Steroids are the easiest target right now for distraction, so only if they make some tax money to save us all.

..Like all the rest I love sports ALL of them but is that everyone claims to have no money, all businesses are going down, the economy is ... terrible, no jobs being offered.. but all out Proffesional Athletes.. i.e .. Foootball, Baseball.. continue to sign higher contracts in the millions and billions... Maybe the disparity of our country..

yeah I get jealous as hell of the guys playing ball making millions, wish i could do that shit for millions, lol

Drug policies in america have always been horrible and specific bans have always been in place to target specific people. Opiods were banned because of the chinese opiom dens in the early 1900's. Weed was banned because when the great deppresion hit they used that to make criminals of the mexican help. Speed (amphetamines) were banned because they did a campaign showing blacks getting enraged and raping white woman and becoming a danger to society......etc. etc. etc.......So why all the smoke now over steroids? One reason is because the contreversy has been a part of the puzzle of taking attention from an unpopular war..........Steroids have been in baseball for over 20 years and they chose the Iraq war period to make it known........Why doesnt the NFL have the big steroid scandals? Because baseball is americas game and makes a bigger impact. NO one cares if soccer players or tennis players are juicing.......We'll never know why but if history tells us one thing is that the government has played this card with other drugs when they needed to hold a people down......well now a days they have to hold us all down from going to washington and marching for our rights back.

Shit in chicago they will have cameras in every city block by 2016. Is that freedom? The fucked up part is the part of chicago with the most cameras has had the most child abductions and rapes........So it's not helping with crime. They are slowly turning the temperture up so we dont feel it but we accept it.

Corporate powers at hand and each city in a state is a corporate power. So basically if you live in chicago you WORK for chicago......sounds facist or communist to me.

These cameras are costing nearly 35k each.......High price and a higher cost. Big brother. WTH. I think I will smack my johnson some more.

found this older article and still no change in perception even with SARMS, lol

So Much For Sarms being Socially Accepted

9 years later and Sarms are on there way to being scheduled alongside steroids!

Steroids aren’t illegal they are just controlled to make more money off them.. professional athletes use them and is even known bu the media.. it’s okay as long as it’s prescribed.. Messi uses hgh but it’s prescribed to him. Fool is average size for his native country yet he uses it because is had issues growing as a kid. Even if he uses normal amount it puts him in an advantage over other Athelets who don’t use it to and natural hgh is declining as they aged

loopholes in the sport industry.. mothafukas on trt but during off season they blast

There needs to be more public knowledge of steroids and steroid users. The general public only knows the old myths about roid rage and such. They think the only people on steroids are Mr. Olympia level bodybuilders, professional wrestlers, and big baseball players. If they understood that half the people in every gym are on some level of illegal steroids, it might be different. If they knew the nice guy next to them at church was on steroids, they might change their perception.
