Posing songs?

Jane's Addiction - 3 days. It's almost 11 minutes long, but you could start around the 2 minute point, and run till you like. It starts to pick up about 45 seconds or so into that.

Tenacious D - Double Team? Starts off slow, get's really funky around the minute mark. Probably not appropriate (language/adult situations :D), but awesome song. Tribute by the same might be more appropriate. Might want to think about starting off a little bit into it, if you wanted. Talks about the greatest song in the world (this is just a tribute). Like your body might not be the greatest in the world, but it a damn fine tribute (and hopefully the best at the show)!

Older school? Motley Crue - Raise Your Hands to Rock?

Oh, the new Nirvana song "You Know You're Right" is pretty good, too. Kinda haunting.

You will be much more dramatic if you pose to big powerful music. that r&b stuff just don't work in my opinion. Either go with metal or classical. Saw a guy pose to some classical stuff one time and it was really dramatic.

How about Carmen's Bizet - Habanera? I'd go with the opera version. That'd be pretty dramatic.

If all else fails.....Right Said Fred's "I'm too sexy" is always a crowd pleaser......hehe.

Presser, go download some audio from the Conan movie, it works real well for posing real dramatic presentaions. I will do a search and see what I can find

I have some coming in now! I am going to be using some music from the show and adding in special effects, (thunder crashes wheen striking poses etc..)

ken69dahl has a great idea. Time to watch some movies for ideas. Also, I believe exotic dancers go through exactly the same dilema - possibly time to hit the strip clubs and see if anything catches your ear?

beethoven's 9th. search winmx or other music download place. It's also on the 'clockwork orange' soundtrack.
It has some calm spots and then it gets massively violent. ( i use mixmeister for mixing )

Oh god - the Diva song from the 5th Element soundtrack would be just awesome. Probably perfect length, slow opera singing at the beginning, just incredible singing (probably synthesized) at the end and incredibly upbeat (big fight scene to it). Seriously, give it a listen if you're not familiar with it.

Songs not to use:

Loverboy: Billy Ocean
Ring My Bell: Donna Summer
Solid as A Rock: Ashford and Simpson
Big Balls: AC/DC
Dude Looks Like A Lady: Aerosmith
The Thong Song: Sisqo
I Want A New Drug: Hewey Lewis & The News

Seriously though....I would think that not only do you want a song that you can pose to or something original but the judges aren't going to be 22 years old either. If you can pick out a retro song, something that they know and grew up to, it could put them in a better mood. Anything to help give you an advantage. And if the crowd gets into it aswell, all the more better. Just a thought.

Or you could try something like this...
Start with the Chicago Bulls theme song. Then a little way sinto the song, beatmatch and mix in the begining beat to Walk this Way by Run DMC and let is overlap. But just loop the beat and guitar part. Don't use the lyrics. Then go into Another One bites The Dust beat or the begining of New Sensation by Inxs and loop that.
I am assuming you know what loop means if you know how to use a mixer. Anyways...just some ideas.

what software does everyone use to do the mixer & cut down to 90 seconds with? I've had to pay to get my done the last 4 competitions ... would love to be able to do it myself.
