carelessness!!!!

I think I messed up. I had everything ready to go to take a shot, I hit the glute, assperaited and blood came into the tip..not the chamber. I got rid of the blood, changed the tip, then decided not to do the shot due to time restraints. I then took the gear and shot it back into the vial.....this is where the problem lies. Do you think I just contaminated the whole vial, do you think it is safe to draw again and shoot, or should I trash the rest of the vial?

What a dumb f@$king thing to do. I wasn't thinking

To be safe, I would heat the bottle in the oven at 250 for 15 minutes 3 times letting cool after each time. Make sure you have a needle through the top so the pressure doesn't cause the bottle to break.

sorry man to hear that....I don't know if I would use it or not..good question, will bump it for you though....

gymrat...will I still run the risk of infection? I have 3 more vials, I can afford to trash this one if I have to...either way, thanks for all the advice on this subject..I knew I could count on on you guys..thanks

No, you won't run the risk of infection. By baking it 3 times you are sterilizing it. If it's mex gear, it will be more sterile now than your other two bottles. But hey, if you really don't want it send it to me and I will be glad to sterilize it and use it with no problems.

If your really concerned.. you could use a sterile filter and filter the possible contamination out.

oh man...ladies and gents...plez do things responsibly!!ask questions b4!!i realize that this was unexpected...but if u have the time 2 stick it in once....what...30 secs is too much to ask??!!

Dedprez...when you have a new born crying, a wife yelling, and late for dinner reservations,,,,30 secs is a lifetime,,not to mention there is cleanup that needs to be done..I dont know about anyone else here, but i dont just leave pins laying on the counter. I like to have everything nice and neat when I'm done. So thats another 5 minutes. As far as timing, I prob should have waited untill I got home instead of rushing the shot.
