low natural test levels?

I kind of suspect I have low natural test levels (I know I have lower than I'd like, but who doesn't - suspect I have generally low levels). My sex drive seems low to me (my interest, not ability to perform), I'm somewhat moody, etc. I've actually gained pretty well over the last year, though - not seeing anything near the results I was able to acheive at age 19, but I figure I've put on 10-15 lbs of muscle in the last 16 months.

My question is should I go see my dr and have my test levels checked? What's the best thing I could hope for out of it. BTW, I'm natural to this point - never even tried pro-hormones. My wife is against me using juice, but she might be coming around. If I had a prescription, she'd be fine with it. I'm 30, and cutting (but not hard) right now, 5'9"+, 189lbs, guessing 10-12% body fat (calipers are broken). Lots (imo) of lower ab fat. My pics in the members section are about 6 lbs heavier than now.

Thanks! Been wanting to post this for awhile, and now is as good of a time as any.

I don't see any harm in checking, one of my buddy's from the gym who is also natural, had his checked for the same symptoms and they were low. He's using the Androderm gel once a day and has cut bf,gained like 8 lbs and is extremely happy. He had his levels checked on the gel and they are now normal. I don't see that you have anything to lose.

I had mine checked along with liver function and PSA before I got my 'scrip. Mine were in the low/normal range. The ranges don't mean much, since they consider anything from the level of a 18 year old to a seventy year old to be in a normal range. I had many of the symptoms you mentioned, some of them due to depression from my marriage break-up I guess, but I feel so much better now, even though I'm still going through some tough times emotionally. I'm so glad I decided to check into doing something about it.

I don't really have any intention of staying natural, regardless of how my tests come back. It's not that I'm not making (even if very slow) progress. But I have pretty high goals for what I want to do with my body. But, right now, I don't even feel normal (for what my definition of normal is).

Thanks for the replies DecaDent and Badgermoon. Badger - what's PSA, and can you tell me what script you got?

And should i just call my dr and tell them my symptoms, and ask if I can get whatever checked?

Thanks!

Ok, made an appt. Did a search on the web, and I certainly have a lot of the symptoms. Thanks for the help, guys. Hopefully will know more soon.

WeirdAl, PSA is something they measure that tells you if you are developing prostrate cancer, or are prone to it. The script I got was for 200mg/wk of cypionate. After the Doc had me do that to see how I reacted, we talked and I told him my reaction to it, and my goals and such. Then I got a script for a stronger dose.... much better.

Definitely get your test & estrogen levels checked. If nothing is wrong so be it. They can then be used as a baseline as you grow older.

i have some of the same symptons, but i have used as before. always had a strong sex drive when youger, (you know, back in the day when you can go several times a day, all day long), i just contribute my problem to cycling on and off. i don't thinks its a hereditary problem, my dad is 51, and says he is just now, starting to loose his blue vein throbbers, but he has never taken any type of drugs (pain meds, gear, alcahol, nothing) if i was u, i would go get it checked out. i plan to, just never have had the time, and now i got this damn back and neck problem i'm trying to correct. take care, good luck.
