Hey All - today is my two year anniversary of hitting it hard in the gym! I don't think I'm in the least bit recognizable now from 2 years ago (and it's not just because my hair is out of control :). On 11/13/2000, I went from mostly sitting on my butt (played softball and or basketball a couple times a week, and played football once a week) and eating like crap to working my butt off in the gym and in the kitchen/at the dinner table. Went from 285 lbs wearing 46" pants, to 175 wearing 30's in 9 months, and have kept working since then.

Anyway, today kind of snuck up on me, and I'm thinking back on how far I've come, and wanted to post something.

Good sh!t man. I've been busting @ss for about 8 months. Was it the results that kept you so interested?

It was wanting to change things that got me interested, and I made a commitment to myself that I would see it through. By the time I'd been doing it for a bit (and yeah, seeing great results), it was kind of a habit, but I was hungry for more. While I was losing weight, I kept telling people that they hadn't seen anything yet. When I got to 175, I was satisfied with my weight loss, but not happy with the amount of muscle that was exposted now, and set out on a quest to increase that. Right now I'm cutting, as I got a little out of control (not bad, just more than I wanted) with the body fat. I have pretty high aspirations now, and can't see myself stopping. This board helps inspire me, everyone else's pics, contest results, and training results.

It is kinda is like a routine. I planned to lose a little bit of weight before I went to Cancun and I never stopped. I hope I can maintain a mentality similiar to your's and a work ethic to match. Once again, congrats.

I also tried to make sure that if I failed, everyone would know it, so that I was afraid to fail. Told everyone I worked with what my goals were, etc. Wrote down my goals. Took before pictures, had deadlines for taking more pics, etc.

Thanks, guys, and especiall shiko24! The problem with posting my old pics here (I have pics at 265 lbs, 235 lbs, 195 and 175 roughly taken 10, 12, and 12 weeks apart) is that I've posted them other places with my real name. I guess I can either find some I haven't posted, or doctor them up a bit (don't really want to advertise who I am).

Anyway, thanks everyone!

I bet your success and dedication will help inspire someone else down the road, and they will have you to thank...great job sticking to your goals and the hard work it took to get there.

Congrads WeirdAl!

Quick question- how did it go with your skin tightning up?

Most places, it went really well. Around my stomach, though, my skin is still really loose (and I have some fat low on my abs that seems really stubborn, but mostly loose skin). Also, in getting as big as I was, I have a lot of stretch marks. Most of the loose skin is several inches below my belly button.
