sugar alcohols

Alot of supplements I come across say 0 sugars, but x number of grams of sugar alcohols. My question is this, "do sugar alcohols act as carbs/sugars in the body?" If a sugar alcohol is a sugar w/ an alcohol attached to it I would think that after the alcohol is broken off you would have a sugar. I do not know much of anythign about this so can someone shed some light on sugar alcohols for me? Thanks,,,bigjosh

Yes it does act as sugar or carbs in your body. I have done some reading on this very thing. That was what I found out.

yea I thought that it was bs; I mean if it acts as a sugar it should be listed as a carb/sugar. Dam companies trying to trick people. thanks for the info bros...
