View Full Version : locking threads is bullshit

By censoring threads it really destroys the credability and integrity of a board. If peaple do not want to read them, fuck them, they do not have to. If you will edit a post because you don't like the topic, you will edit information, when it is convienant, concerning sources, products, suppliers ect. You must have absolute trust in this community, censorship just leads to more problems. I have seen many boards start off good only to be corrupted, and push there own financial and political agenda. Be carfull.

Unfortunately.....the internet is not for us only. ALL law enforcement agencies have access to it too. So when a thread concerning the identity, name, addy...etc. of individuals who might sell or distribute illegal substances is revealed it is neccesary to delete it. Threads that have no common goal other than a internet verbal argument are a waste of space and should either be locked or deleted. The only advice I can give you my friend is if you don't care for the way things run around here...then simply don't log on.........456

I agree with 456. It seems as though things need to be regulated so everything runs smoothly. It's for your own good.

Every site needs some control
Those that don't like it should start their own site. That way others that feel the same way can enjoy.
I personally feel that I would rather have a safe, tight group on a board, then one that is just out of control.

I understand your concern but there is greater good behind it all. You say that we must have "absolute trust in this community, censorship just leads to more problems" and in a perfect world we would. But the world is not perfect and more and more often we are seeing bodybuilders arrested as the result of drug busts and being prosecuted to the same degree as if they were selling heroin. We edit posts to not only preserve the safety of suppliers but the safety of ourselves and this very site. Any idiot can log on to a computer and join into the conversations. With thousands and thousands of new members a month who is to tell that all of them are here just to gain knowledge about our sport? I know this might sound on the edge of paranoid but it is truely a necessity that we keep certain information between those have have proven themselves worthy of it. Once you have been around for a while you will start being able to fill in the blanks and some of the non-sense threads will start making a liitle more sense. Now if you are worried about some militant, dictator mod "pushing their own financial and political agenda" I can assure you this is not the case. All the mods here are highly knowledgeble and have a great respect for the community that has been built. I hope this helps put you at ease.

P.S.- Hey mods, if any of this is out-of-line feel free to edit it. LOL

I am speaking of boards in general, not necassarily this board in particular. I would agree with the source posting, the objective is to protect good sources. But as for discussions, NO WAY. Just like television if you don't like the channel turn it, if the thread turns into a flame, not a heated discussion, moderate that is what moderators do, trust me I do not have a agenda, the only peaple that are usually pro censorship, either do not no any better or they have a reason to. Isn't it funny, anobolex seem to push xxx products, Anabolics anonomous xxxx products, ect, ect, ect.. Many moderators have tieins ect ect. If peaple are to dumb, then I guess it is there ass.Again I am not talking about this board in particilar, but I have been around and know the game, trust me there is a whole lot of politics. That is why finding a open honest baord is crucial, and only time can tell you that, censorship just helps destroy that trust, later

The mods are here for our protection and yours. We may not always see eye to eye but their "moderation" will be what keeps this a QUALITY SITE.

Furthermore, I firmly believe they should be able to edit, lock, or delete any posts they deam necessary. Except mine. j/k :D

You trash a member.. edit and or locked
you degrade an individual or group..edit and or locked
you mention a source .. deleted and banned if it happens too often
Flame ... in any way.. you will be warned/ edited and if persistant.. banned

It is unwanted here and that's my job to keep it as friendly as I can

It is Pressers and Basskillers sandbox and if you want to play in it, gotta be by their rules-if you don't like their rules-find another sandbox!-No offense Dwalt but I thought this was common knowledge.I'm sure you've posted at other boards and seen that each one is slightly different-Yes-your point is well taken-these guys do walk a fine line and they are human but all in all I for one think this THE board and these guys do a great job!!

I am not sure if everyone is taking this the right way, I am not attacking the board, I was just- wait just forget it, I guess if you want to talk abortion, gay rights, relegion, ect go to a politics board. i love weightlifting, but after a while it gets somewhat stale. so i think debates even heated ones are good and i think if someone is rude and flames me , don't ban them, I will take care of myself. As for the whole, behind the scenes deal-other boards, other problems, but has enlightened me to what is happening and what could happen, i think the mods do a good job from what I know, (hell, we are on the internet for all i know they are undercover FBI or I could be a Fitness sight administrator), I was just stating a topic like gays in the military or somthing. i can see it now Dwalt,s World of Philosophy and Phisical Fitness, order some raw powder from oversea's ,a little chemistry, oh yea! future is so bright I got to wear shades. LMAO

Well moderated boards are the only good boards. The boards that have all the drama and bullshit tend to be short on mods. It is really nice to come here and know that the assholes will not be allowed to destroy the board.

Just my .02

I agree with hostile...well moderated boards are the best. No offense to FB but the post over there are just getting ridiculous. That is why I came over here. I mean geared and small are good bros, buT FB just fell apart as you were getting flaming and constant B/S posts and no editing was going on.
