Any of u guys ever seen the manta ray for squats?I bought one today and did legs and it was worth every penny. It snaps on to the bar and fits nicely in your trap area,it made the heavy weight feel much better than just the bar on your back.

Hmm, looks interesting. Did a web search and found it and the "sting ray" (for front squats). Would love to hear more opinions on either of these - haven't had much problem with squats, but front squats are so awkward.

I have tried it and it just does not feel right. I like to do squats with the raw bar.

I think if you can use one they are much better for distributing the weight. I just can't get used to it.

We had one in high school. I used it, I loved it. Damn, I almost forgot about that thing. I would buy one.

I have one, and the gym I go to has one too.

It does take a bit getting used to, but it helps you handle more weight by distributing the weights across your upper back.

Then, all you have to worry about is bruising on your back around the edges of the Manta Ray when you push serious weight. :D

just used one for the first time... it felt akward but it helped with my shoulder ... shoulder hurts stabilizing the bar and it seems the manta raises the bar a little higher and making it easier on my shoulder until it heals... bruise looks funny from the manta also... like around the edges :)

Is the thing soft or real stiff plastic? Just curious if it molds to your shape or not.
