Im training for athletics hardcore, I want to be in the best shape of my life for the playoffs which are about 30 days away, and I was told by our trainer, due to how rigorous our schedule is, I could easily lose 1-1.5 pounds a day if I eat right? is this possible?
P.S. I should be about 30 pounds lighter to be in my best shape.

Any info or input would be appreciated!

maybe for a few days but i dont think you could keep losing that much for more than a wk or so. i think 1 lb of fat is about 3000-4000 cals or so, so maybe 1/2 lb of fat, a lil lost muscle, and the rest water, but thats a shit load of cals to burn a day!

sounds like you maybe have waited too long bro, you can still loose 12-18 lbs, w/ the correct diet and training

I was saying 12-18 for month to stay on the safe side for not losing any muscle & strength, now w/ hockey I don't have to much experience with but from what i hear you can drop anywhere from 5-9lbs a game, all water weight, which will be put back on. I think you should just concentrate on your calorie intake and depending on your practice schedule you might be able to work in cardio also. Are you planning on taking any OTC supps, or anything else.

something like that...but to compete in athletics is a whole different story. if u deplete your body from nutrients that it needs it probably will perform worse than what u r now..

BTW, you want to be very careful in what you take. Just because when intertwining a cardio and stressful sport like hockey you don't want to overdue strain on your heart and the rest of your bod.

Good thought...;)

thanks so much for the input all...Im not taking any supplements for muscles or weightloss now, cause I really dont have much experience or knowledge about the subject...should I be taking something? any ideas?

At most you should be dropping is 2-3 lbs a week, and that is just so you maintain muscle mass, I mean it can be done to drop more than that, but you suffer and so does your body.
