cardio and intestines

After a heavy cardio session on an empty stomach I always get cramps in my intestines. They feel really filled with air and I have a lot of 'escaping air'. Air comes out up and down, meaning I have to fart a lot (pardon my language) but I also have to burp a lot.

Maybe a stupid question, but really an annoying problem though. Anybody knows how this happens and how I prevent it?
 
After a heavy session with the weights where I have to grunt and strain a lot, I frequently have to dash to the lavatory and blow it up!!! Coincidence? I think not.....
 
could be that you may be swallowing air into your digestive tract. during your heavy respiration. not sure?
