Powder trouble

I got a powder kit from 2dam where he sent me one vial with oil and one to filter in. Im assuming that the dissolving soln is mixed in with the oil already.
I tried a small experiment suspending some prop powder. 1g to 9ml of soln. The freakin powder just sat at the bottom like my shit in the toilet. It mixed in and probably dissolved to some degree but it dont look anything like any test that ive seen.
It looks more like winny suspended in oil.
I tried to dissolve some of the powder in some dissolving soln from my fina kit and the exact same thing happened, no dissolving.

koss bro haven't made it to the powder level but I think bass has some reading about powders at his site if you haven't seen them already.

ya man, thats where i got my start. now Im at an impass and the 8 years of chemistry ive had dont seem to help worth a shit.
