Dallas Cowboy kills 2 in hit & run

I know...what a tragedy. How does anyone know he was going 110mph though? The witnesses said that he was going over 100mph, but they could have been exaggerating. Not to say what he did was right, though. They should charge him with murder, not manslaughter.

Why would he just drive off after dragging the Good Samaritian 150 some feet? That not just careless, that's fucking cruel. He deserves a murder charge for that...who knows maybe he could have saved the guy he hit if he had stopped,or at least not drug him 50yards after impact. Must have been intoxicated.
Sad stuff.

I see people going that fast on I35 in North Dallas all the damn time. Fucking idiots every one of them. Why is it they are never the ones killed?

A short criminal law lesson:
Generally, the crime of Murder requires malice. Here, since there was apparently no intent on Goodrich's part to kill anyone, it's pretty clearly Manslaughter.

Regardless, it's clear he was extremely reckless and I hope this isn't one of those cases where a celebrity gets off with probation. Manslaughter can still carry some very severe penalties, depending on jurisdiction.

What a fucking idiot

I understand that he didn't intentionally kill the two guys...I mean, he actually turned himself in. But he didn't stop to render aide, and (of course we're assuming) was driving under the influence. I don't see why he can't be charged with murder. I know the law states otherwise, but he "murdered" two men with his BMW and didn't stop to help. :(

Well, I thought about it some more, and maybe you're right.
There are lots of standards, but Common Law Murder 2 is generally requires:

Recklessness +
or
“gross recklessness”
or
“very significant risk of death”

Seems like the state has a good case for Murder 2 if that's the standard they're using. A case for "gross recklessness" would be helped if they can show that, say, he was driving 110 while talking on his cell, switching a CD, drinking a wine cooler, and reaching for another, for example...

But really, it just depends on what the specific law is in that jurisdiction, I'd have to check into it.

the whole situation is sad and there is no resolution for any of it.,,,, he has ruined lives including his own... and no matter what he will never be the same mentally.... nor will the families... 21 and 23 ???... thats just way to young to die....

these pro athletes and celebrities, always get off easy. They need to hold them responsible and drop the hammer like they do the rest of us. I cant hardly believe it.....Another criminal Dallas Cowboy!

Vehicular (SP?) Homicide. Some drunk from my hometown is serving time for this charge. He was drunk on the revoked list and Ran down an old lady coming home from Bingo. I know the womans grandaughter, it wrecked their family.
