Cars that is. I am in the process of getting my used car dealer license. I am going to go to the auctions that only the dealers can get into and try to maybe move a couple cars a month and hopefully have it grow in to something bigger. I just hate working swing shift..takes all my time away from my family/training and any hobbies. Not to mention....I might do some business on here and throw some coin Pressers way. I will have the MC members discount!!
I'll post before I go the auction and see if anyone has something specific they are looking for..might be kinda fun!!..........456

yep....new car dealers don't make near the money used do. Its gonna be a little hard at 1st but hell i figure the worst that could happen is that i could buy a couple vehicles not be able to sell them and have to drive them and pay for them. Not much different than what most people do anyway...........456

One of my neihbors sells used cars on the side. And, he does very well at it. He tells me that the worst case scenerio is usually that he breaks even, but gets to drive the car for a couple of months for free. And, he does mostly high end cars, so he is always driving something cool.

I do the same thing either from insurance auctions (smashed but good titles) or straight auctions in the past 3 years I have driven a bmw m3 a bmw 540 and a currently have a porsche boxster and have not made one payment used card auctions are the best secret on the planet plus you avoid a lot of costs while driving by having dealer plates . one word of advice though mr 456 just make it known you have a dealers license and people will pay you to take them to the auction and you can make a lot of money without ever buying a car

call your state offices they will send you a dealer packet , then you have to provide an address for your location and fingerprints and other such nonsense it is a long process but well worth it

Do you really think all those fancy car dealers with flashy cars started with new cars, NO !. 99% Of car dealers who are known in the area start selling shitty cars..and then they earn money and buy more expensive cars...I know this mofo dealer, that sells used cars from 1993 to 99 or so...bought this 93 GS Lexus for $11.000 sold it to my bro in law for $18.000..and when my bro in law wanted to get his newer Lexus he only gave him $8.000 for it...man..dealers....hehe I hope you'll be the fair one.. oh yes..good luck :D

Good luck i have been in the car biz for 25yrs.I started with my dad when i was 13 part time then when i turn 16 i went full time car dealer.I have a buy here pay here lot it is slow right now in the car biz.But i have around 500 accounts on the books so that helps out when it is slow.Just watch out who you buy from there things some dealers do to get a car to the aution. You want no until a few days later then it is to late

My son is looking to buy a car. He lives in Atlanta. I''d like to perhaps co-sign for him. I think he wants a 93 or so Crown Vic, could even be a used cop car. Any ideas?

good luck bro, my dad owns a repair garage, and sells about 50 used cars a year, it makes some nice supplemental income.

good luck there is a lot of coin in this. I have a buddy who just takes people to the auction as drivers, tells them to pick out a car and pay him 500 and then he buys it for him. No risks and he makes 500, no advertisements just works word of mouth.

I was really interested in doing exactly that here, but they've just recently changed the regulations (here in NC) to really discourage people from being a car dealer as a side job. The enforcement officer (who has to come out and inspect everything) said they expect you to put in 40+ hours a week... You also have to have a $50k bond, dedicated office that can't be in a residential building (that depends on city codes), you have to take classes, etc. A real hassle, so I decided not to do it. There are public auto auctions here that I go to, though, that are mostly attended by dealers. They tend to be cheaper, higher mileage cars, though. Bought my current POS there!

They have pretty much the same laws here in Iowa. I might possibly be using a friends business as a "front". he has a legit business, i just need to use his business name and place for legal purposes. Not to mention I have to get a pile of insurance on top of what he has to eliminate any chance of him being liable. Which he still would be anyway. Its not going to be easy, but neither is the job i do now.........456
