Anyone have any tips on using insulin while avoiding fat gain

It is gonna be hard for me to be putting on mass with a low fat intake because I simply have trouble eating that much stuff. Cutting out the fats will put me in a negative caloric balance which is something i don't want. I currently have been eating about 6 muscle milk shakes a day in addiction to my meals and the shakes contain alot of fat and high calories.. I do not have a problem avoiding foods. My motivation is so high I can view food simply as fuel so i do not cheat on diets, but just don't know how I'm gonna take in enough calories w/out the fats...

How careful do I have to be about avoiding fats? Any tips on my post workout meal to go with my slin? Is it most crucial to avoid fat intake only when I take my insulin and then the next following 4-6 hours or do I need to avoid it all day long?

I got 5pounds of dextrose that I am going to take w/ my meal and insulin post workout...

Anyways if anyone has any tips let me know! Bigjosh doesn't wanna lose his abs if he can help it,,,lol. But i will sacrifise them for muscle gain and just lose the fat later if that's the way i have to do it...

Thanks,,,bigjosh

well, I would get humalog, have simple carbs and protein after my slin shot. I'd probably add in some complex carbs as well. 1 hour after, protein and a mix of simple and complex carbs, yada, yada. beyond that, I would keep my diet as usual, just no fat for 2-3 hours after humalog.

bigjosh, insulin will increase the transport of nutrients to fat cells just like it does to muscle cells..that's what results in fat gain .
It still comes down to metabolic balence,so you don't need to give up your musclemilk.
(btw, that rootbeer flavor is the best shake around IMO)

You just need to avoid fats, for a few hours after your slin shots.

Yes i know it shuttles nutrients into fats as much as muscle... that's what scares me... I'll just make my post workout slin meal have low fat and avoid fat intake for about 4 hours since I'm using humulin r. Thanks for the info as always bros! And if anyone has any additional tips post em! thanks,,,bigjosh

I think everyone is different as to where that spillover point is. 10g of carbs per i.u. is what most guys go with, but you may be ok with say 6 or 8.... It's a tradeoff though between being obsessed with the possibility of fat versus the possibility of going into diabetic coma. I think you can guess which way I'd recommend ;)

you don't want any fats 2 hours before your shot either. you need some whey isolate as your protein source, the musclemilk has way too much fat. eggwhites are good whole foods.
