I see yams recommended all the time. So what gives? Why are they so good for you?

I can't eat them unless they're cooked the way my Grandma cooks them and unfortunately that involves assloads of butter and sugar

Hell yeah gotta love the YAMS...you should try slicing them up like fries and frying them in some light olive oil...I like them lke that or just nuke em'. Good stuff...low GI

Thanx guys.......I knew they had a good vitamin profile but I knew there was something else there. YAMS ARE YUMMY!:)

If your in a hurry you can eat them raw. They taste alot like a carrot.

-Tons of fibre which is good for the gut. (more so than reg potatoes)
-Good source of potassium.
-Complex carb.
