i forget which gland is under the right part of your lower jaw bone, but mine swells when i get sick, or when i first start use of androgens.it has also swollen when my wisdom teeth started to grow in and bother me. right now my wisdom teeth are definitely doing something and it's caused that gland to swell.is there anything i can do to bring it back down? has anyone experinced this before?

It may be a lymph node, here's some info.
3. Lymph Nodes
At several sites in the human body, the lymphatics join to form a bundle of tissue called lymph nodes, or popularly known as lymph glands. The term "lymph gland" technically is not accurate because "glands" make hormones, and "lymph glands" do not manufacture hormones.
Any fluid that enters the lymphatic system must pass through at least one lymph node before advancing to the heart and reentering the circulartory system.

The individual nodes vary in size from microscopic to approximately 2.5 cm [1 inch] in diameter. Each node consists of a tightly packed mass of white blood cells forming lymphoid tissue. In the node, several small lymphatic vessels convey lymph to the node filter and then to a single larger vessel that carries the fluid out of the node. Every lymph node has its own small artery and vein.

There are approximately 600 lymph nodes in the human lymph system. The nodes generally occur in clusters, particularly under the armpits, behind the ears, in the groin, in the abdominal cavity, behind the knees, and in other areas.

Lymphoid tissue in the nodes produce antibodies and hold reservoirs of lymphocytes, as discussed below. Lymph nodes also contain macrophages, which are large cells that engulf bacteria and other foreign particles. Thus, lymph nodes function as filters that trap cancer cells, bacteria, and viruses.

Lymph nodes play an important role in fighting infection, primarily in their roles in antibody production and lymphocyte storage.

It is a lymph node. They swell as a non-specific response to infection. Inflammation destroys the pathogen that has invaded the lymph tissue.

I FIRST GOT IT WHEN I WAS 16, I SEEM TO BE REAL SENSITIVE TO THE SWELLING THING. I WAS SCARED SHITLESS THINKING IT WAS CANCER WHEN I WAS YOUNGER. IT GETS A LITTLE SORE . YOU CAN'T REALLY NOTICE OR SEE IT CAUSE THE JAWBONE HIDES IT, BUT VERY ANNOYING.LOL GEAR, DON'T GIVE ME ANY IDEAS

As long as the lymph tissue/ node is sore you really do not have anything to worry about. Unless it gets out of hand of course...antibiotics will always work. If it is not tender to touch, that is when you have to worry about cancer. Drink lots of water to help flush the lymphatic system, take Motrin to reduce inflammation and if it doesn't get better in a few days definately see a doc. This is from personal experience and limited knowledge. I am by no means a doctor. Have fun in Cancun!

First off, the lymph nodes under the border of your jaw are the submandibular lymph nodes which drain your back teeth in the bottom jaw and your palatal tonsils. If you have a throat or tooth infxn they swell and get painful. If youre healthy when this happens you prob have a gum infection which could be due to impacted third molars (wisdom teeth). If you dont take care if this, it will take care of you. Remember the picture of Stan Laurel with the hankercheif tied around his head in Joey's apartment on friends? That'll be you.
You need some penicillin or amoxicillin ASAP. Once the infexn goes down, you need to get the causative agent taken care of. If its the molars, get them yanked.

Dont mean to scare the crap out of you, but if entire area under your jaw is painful and firm it means you have a pretty serious infections which is spreading (woody jaw) and you need to get some attention yesterday.

IT'S JUST THE LUMP ITSELF, NOT PAINFUL, JUST TENDER TO THE TOUCH. BUT STILL. BESIDES THE PART OF MY MOUTH MY TEETH ARE CONSTANTLY CHEWING ON, NO PAIN AT ALL. I'M HOPING I CAN HOLD IT OFF FOR A WEEK

Take some Pen or amox with you. If youre in in cancun you can walk to the farmacia and buy the pen over the counter. its cheap. If you start having symptoms you need to take 500 mg pen every six hours or 500 mg amox every eight hours. If you can see a doc to evaluate you it would be great. If youre sure its not the wisdom teeth maybe you have a little nick shaving or a throat infexn coming on. In those case no sweat.

I had a little lump uder my jawline last summer. I knew what caused mine though. I was on cynomel and wasn't tapering up correctly. Instead of doing 1111-2222-3333-4444....I went 1-2-3-4....what an idiot. I learned my lesson! I bought the stuff 6 months before cyclying it and didn't refresh my memory prior to throwing it in my cycle. Anyhow, I'm not quite the moron I once was! Thanks!!
