Guys can u answer these questions for me just so i am sure that i am correct.


1. Slow twitch muscle fibers are primiraly used in resistance training. (true or false)

2. ________ was originally used to peak for one major competition or event during the year (a. periodization, b. timing, c. detraining, d. peaking)

1. HARD TO SAY WHAT RESISTANCE TRAINING REALLY IS BUT I WOULD SAY FALSE...MEANING RESISTANCE TRAINING IS LIKE RUNNING SHORT DISTANCES...I BELIEVE THOSE WOULD BE THE FAST TWITCH WHICH ARE USE FOR FAST, POWERFUL MOVEMENTS
 
I was guessing d on 2. I knew it wasn't periodization or detraining. For 1, it is hard to say. I did a search on the web, and one resource I found said that weight training always involves slow twitch muscles, and the fast twitch muscles only come into play on explosive movements, or when the slow twitch muscles are fatigued. It also said that only the fast twitch muscles benefit from reistance training. I'd lean towards "true".
