I drive a 97 2wd ford explorer. for the past week the front left tire makes this rumbling sound the faster i go, it sounds like I have a 40 inch mud tire on that side. everything looks fine, so i cant figure out what would be causing this. Anyone have any ideas what it is cause I wanna fix this myself to save $$ from the shop. Any info is appreciated. thanks.

If it sounds worse around turns, probably a bearing (you can jack up that wheel and see if there is any play in the wheel). Otherwise, could be a tire issue (check your wear and inflation), check your disc brakes... If it's a knocking around turns, check your cv joints.

I had something similar, it was a band inside the tire that broke. Basically you have to replace the tire. It may be that, or the bearing.
