driving home from Mexico

I will soon be driving to Mexico to get some goodies. Do you have any suggestions or advice on how to drive back across the border with the goodies? Mailing the stuff back to myself could be a possibility too if it would be safer. I figured with what is going on in the world right now that mail mailing might not be a great idea though. As far as driving across the border, I have thought about putting the stuff in plastic baggies inside shampoo bottles with the shampoo covering it all up. I also have a box holding two 15" speakers and I've thought about taking out a speaker and taping the goods inside the box and screwing the speaker back in.
Anyway, what do you all think would be the best thing to do? Oh yeah, my girlfriend will be driving.

I'm thinking, too, if you're busted she's going to feel some heat as well regardless of whether she's directly involved or not - and I'd think that if she were driving, that could be construed as direct involvement.

I think you would have to be insane to try this right now. Border patrol and customs are on high alert. Your putting your girlfriend at risk, way to many risks right now.

yeah i have a suggestion . put the peddle to the metel and do about 110mph and through the gate and dont stop. you must be nuts to try this shit, let the mexicans bring it over in their landscaping trucks man not a white boy with a boom box,lol

Good point Presser-to save the couple $$ or even a lot of $$ its not worth getting snagged.

It all depends on where your crossing at. If its a little border town you shouldn't have much problem. If its like where Tijuana crosses i wouldn't even think about it.
BTW I just flew home from Cancun on Tuesday(after the 48hr Bush thing)....they went thru everyones bags...not very thoroughly though. I figured when I landed at O'hare they would really give the look thru for illegal shit.....THEY DIDN'T EVEN CHECK OUR BAGS!!!! Basically we are trusting other goverments security people to check the INCOMING bags....to OUR country. Security in this country is a joke....I don't care how many airport personel they hire...there is always going to be more passengers than security. Not that i did but I could've EASILY.......brought half of Mexico back with me.........456
