IF I WERE TO OPEN A NUTRITION STORE OUT BY ME WHAT WOULD BE SOME GOOD ITEMS TO CARRY, THINGS I MAY NOT HAVE THOUGHT OF THAT YOU GUYS HAVE GONE AROUND IN YOU AREA LOOKING FOR IN NUTRITION STORES, IDEAS NEEDED. THNX

and some freakin protein. I found a spot with everything listed except they don't have protein.

Also discounts on orders over 200 or something like that.
 
NO PROTIEN,LOL, AND THIS IS FOR A REAL STORE FRONT OUT BY ME, I FOUND A SWEET LITTLE STORE LOW RENT GOOD LOCATION BUT NEED IDEAS OF WHAT TO PUT IN IT, AND I DONT HAVE MUCH MORE MONEY THAN TO MOVE INTO THE PLACE,LOL, BUT I THINK I CAN MAKE IT WORK, JUST NEED IDEAS AND CHEAP VENDORES

if it were me i would focus on consumables for repeat business and maybe a few gloves and straps, but thats so overdone.
how about stocking some powders to attract the serious repeat buyers. like ala, nyc , crapp like that. i went into a discount nutrition by my house and they had yohimburne, that is impressive, and it attracts the repeat type business.
 
Make your own brand of Pro-Hormones. Just buy in bulk and rebottle. You could really improve mark up then. Who are you marketing too? The truly hardcore or just the average fitness person? Identify your target audience. Also look into bulk mail advertising. Kind of like dominoes only purchase your list from a mag. like Flex or M & F. Only buy the names in the Zipcodes you want. Make a cheap flyer and you are on your way. Give some sort of discount for bringing in the flyer so you can track how they got to you.
 
One thing I think you could do is make custom packs like animal packs. Only get stuff that would work synergistacly. Sell by the month. IE Animals Stack.

Yeah, presser - good question, who'd be your target audience? Obviously a GNC type store does pretty well across the board. There are some really good protein bars out there that can be tough to find, like the tri-o-plex bars from oatbar.com. High quality protein powders...
 
target customers would be not so hardcore but rather mainstream fitness folks, my area is exploding into fitness with all the gyms and shit around so i am thinking of taking on this task of opening a store, but anyhow just ur plane jane fitness people i would try to attract, they make up more of the gym population then guys like me who are a tad more serious,lol

In that case, the vitamins and stuff will probably be the big sellers, as well as fat loss stuff (eca, etc). NYC is tough to find! If you could offer bf% testing, customized diet plans, etc, that could be a big draw as well....
 
yeah the place has two back rooms where i could have scales and calipers etc for bf% taking and yes i will offer diets,cart wheels, juggling acts ,lol, whatever makes a buck! lol
 
how about a fresh smoothie bar, especially if you're near a gym... maybe "fountain" protein drinks, or a cold case with individual protein/post workout stuff...
At the arnold classic, they had a soft-serve ice cream machine filled with an mrp (same co that makes cell-tech), and it was awesome!
 
hmm need a another liscence to make smoothies and shakes i think, plus the new gym thats to open across the street from this store already will have a juice bar, but maybe i could have a few chairs or old couches to sit and chill out with me and have a shake

also i need a glass door refridgerater to keep the shakes in the place doesnt have one and i think they are expensive as hell, anyone know where to find used ones?
 
Check your local classifieds commercial stuff listing... and ebay. Heck, if the fridge is too expensive, you could always just have a normal one, with a list of what you carry on the outside - doesn't have to be a display case!
 
If your target market is mainstream, I would say you biggest seller would be fatloss products & protein powders.

The idea of buying powders in bulk & capping your own prohormones is pretty good too.

BF test would be good too.
