Reusing slin pins

Two questions...
(1) Is it really OK to reuse insulin needles?
(2) If so, what kind of sterilization process do you put them through to ensure that there's no complications?

thanks in advance for your input

It just is not wroth it when a box of 100 cost less than $5 at most places. I just don't recommend the reuse of any pin, IMO.

If your using the 30 guage pins, do not re-use. My box actually had a picture taken under a microscope of what a needle looks like after it is used once, twice, & three times. those pins are so small & thin they really dull and bend, but it is not visable to the naked eye. It could increase chances of an infection.

Where are you getting 100 for less than $5? A box of 100 here at Walmart is about $15 but that is syringe and all, or are these just the pin?

get slin pins at getpinz.com for pretty darn cheap. like $3 I think per 50. A little more for the syringe and pin combo but not too much.

Actually I'm wrong about that. They are a little more at getpinz. Where do you get 100 for 5.00? I might try some insulin soon so I need a good cheap source. lol

I wish getpinz would get the half cc syringes, they are much more accurate, each IU is individually labeled 1-50.

I'm sorry brothers, i guess i got a little excited there. I meant to say that syringes are relatively inexpensive. I haven't bought pins in forever, because when i buy them i get 1000 or more. When i do buy them i usually get them from Sciensupply.com or whoever has the better deal.
