Thigh injections

Does anyone know if your quad has more nerves on the top middle then the top outside. It seems everytime I inject into the middle (straight up and down, rather than at an angle from the side) I always hit more nerves. Once I hit a nerve my leg starts twitching and causes more pain. Sometimes if I directly hit a nerve I have to pull out and try again. Does this happen to anyone else?

I would assume the outside head of your quad is the best place to hit, but I like to try different area so I don't build up a lot of scar tissue. Its the damn nerve twinge everytime I try the top part. ouch!

I don't know, I always hit the side...

I do the outside just a few inches about the knee I did it a little higher one time and hit a nerve and almost fainted so I do it a little lower now !!

i put my hands at my side, the stick right in between my thumb and index finger, n the arch in my hand. No pain

I pretty much do the same area as Stang... maybe slightly more towards the top. On the right... no pain.. on the left, some pain...and maybe 1/2 times I nick a vein. *shrug*

The other thing I have had success with is completely relaxing the quads. If you are standing up, they are likely partly tensed - same with sitting down on a chair/toilet/etc.

Sit on the floor with your back against the wall and put your legs out straight - actively relax the muscle. Helps me a lot. Otherwise I get the nerves and leg twitching no matter where I stick the needle.

I'm doing ED injections on top of my twice weekly test/eq so I have to hit my quads all over......no probs with hitting nerves

Quads are a big spot..... just need to relax the leg and shot it!
