Best Squats Ever

Just wanted to share with everyone the best set of squats I ever had. After a couple of warmup sets I placed 1 plate on each side of the bar - Smith Machine at that. Unracked, went down slow, past parallel and then exploded up. Got 2 sets of 10 at 135. God that felt great!

I had my achilles tendon surgerically repaired on Jan 31th of this year. Originally the doctor told me I'd be in a walking cast till the end of July, at which time I could start rehabing. I'm way ahead of schedule obviously. Got the non-weight bearing cast off in 6 weeks, got the walking cast off in another 2. Started on leg extensions as soon as I got the walking cast. Moved to horizontal leg press (might as well scrap that thing for parts) and then to a seated leg press machine (which wasn't bad) but I was so happy to graduate to squats even if it was a Smith Machine.

In case you're wondering what is behind my miraculous recovery (2 other people I know were still laid up in bed 3 weeks post surgery) I can't tell you. But hypothetically speaking doses of test, eq, var and GH may have had something to do with it.

Glad to hear it bro. I partially tore my right achilles 1 1/2 years ago. I was in a cast at a 45 deg angle for 2 months, then walking cast for 1 month. It still bothers me while running.

I had ACL reconstruction on both knees and I remember how great it felt to get back in the power rack. Makesyou feel brand
new.

Congrats on the rehab work and watch your strength go up every workout.

From what little I know about an achillies rupture, that is an amazing recovery.

How has the rest of your body progressed while you've had to go easy on your legs?

yes it is a great inspriration for those who may or are facing the same type of set backs, im sure alot of it had to do with your mental outlook as well bro! probably more so then the drugs, the human body is amazing when you utalize it properly mentaly and physicaly

First thanks to all who have replied! It's really nice to hear from people who can relate to what I've been feeling. Family and friends for the most part were in the - "I hope this means you'll quit lifting weights and growup" category, except for the wife who was in the - "I know this is killing you not being able to lift but it's killing me too, to have to wait on you hand and foot. So get healed and get back to the gym so I can get some rest".

Especially for old folk like us Badger. BTW- you'd be a pretty cool guy except for that Packer helmet. Go Bears! 2003 Soilder Field Reopening, Packer/Bears Monday Night!

WeirdAl- You find out what truly are your best bodyparts during a comeback. It's been about 8 weeks and just last week I set PB's on delts. Back and Biceps are about 90% (although arms are at a new all time high size wise) and Chest and Triceps only 80%. Thanks for asking!

Nah, it was the drugs! Just kidding. Thanks for your words. Everyday I was laid up I was a bear. I just wanted to get back to the gym. 2 hours after I had the weight bearing cast on I was back in there.

congrats, I had a torn achilles, after surgery leg extensions really helped for recovery.
