Back in december I had a friend of mine take my insurance information to a plastics doc, he was assisting me in obtaining a referral to recieve gyno surgery w/out paying out of my pocket. My friend is a well recognized ortho surgeon with a ton of connections. Well, its may now and he hasn't mentioned anything to me about the process, i was supposed to recieve the surgery approximately one month after we talked. today i plan on sending him an email about the situation, since my gyno has not magically reversed itself. I havent approached him earlier on the topic, reason being that i didn't want to be a pain in the ass.

My question is, are there any surgeons in the Philadelphia area who would do the surgery using my insurance? i don't want to drop the cash on the surgery at this time.

it might be tough if you don't know somebody. i think they would consider it cosmetic and it won't be covered.

i know that it is cosmetic, but i've heard of people finding a loophole by stating that they occured during puberty and the continue to cause pain, the pain would negate the surgery being cosmetic wouldn't it?

bro i went to 2 gyno surgeon last week and 2 this week, all turned me away saying it wasnt bad enough to have done, except todays dr i seen said he would do it this wednsday, lol, took me ofgaurd, all the other drs said i would look worse after the surgery then this one tells me i will look fine

the reason is this, the other drs who said no said it because i want my gland taken out and they said it would leave a pucker or a hole in my chest, wich i dont want, todays dr said he would do it and it would look fine because he wouldnt take all the tissue out, just enough to make my chest look perfectly contour, but by leaving some of the tissue in he said the lumps would grow more of i was to use juice again, so thats like 4k for a short term fix if i did decide to ever juice again.

but no u wont find a dr who will take insurance man, trust me, been to a shitload of them the past few weeks

The diagnonsis from the Dr. must state it is a Medical Necessity to support the procedure for insurance to cover it. Either your primary Dr or the operating Dr can do this. It is all in how it is presented to your insurance carrier. My wife is a Director at a hospital and she just informed my of this. Hope it helps

all I did is go to the doctor and get a refferal and he sent me to a surgeon . got the surgery a week and a half later and did not pay for anything but a $100 copay. insurance payed for the rest.

Nah, I'm feeling you on this one....my little town has 4 area colleges so we get people from all over and it's a trip for me to see people from other states dressing like they normally would....gets second looks to say the least.....the rednecks around here aren't really tolerant of people who are different than they are..........shit, you should've seen and heard the comments made about my buddy when he'd go into public with dreadlocks back in the late 80's.....buncha closed minded fucks all around me

I had a gyno taken out from under one nipple and insurance covered it all - no problem!
