I know it iant gear related but i used to train heavy heavy . ie. 4rep sets sumtimes 2's and 3's and forced! got ,as u seen big and thick but now ive bin doin 8's and doubled my sets and damn!!! im volumising by the day!!!
its the way forward bros!!!

i do 2 set of 8 on minors and 3 set of 10 on majors and love the growth

bro I don't think it's the fact that your body respond to a different method of training better.. I think it's the shock of the change itself....

Dont forget that variation is a bodybuilding principle. Don't think you would be that much bigger if you had always done this new rep scheme. Change is good. Heavy (4-5 reps) for strength; Med (6-8) for size and strength; and high (10-12) for size. Don't forget the eccentric is a huge component and strict reps will limit your number of reps. Just work the muscle so that you get stronger and bigger. Don't cheat. If your ego dictates your weight/rep scheme, start training at home alone. Quit worrying and concentrate on your progress. Cycle your rep scheme like you cycle everything else.
