I was just curious. I wanted to know how everyone got their initial information about gear. I know we all sharpen our skills here at MC, but how did you first figure out---how many d's to pop, or where to jab yourself?
Personally, I gathered some information by word of mouth, but I knew this wasn't the best route. I decided that I need lots of legitimate information before taking anything.
The place, or person who I learned alot from was the late Dan Duchaine, back when Muscle Media was a good source of underground info. The Guru, Dan, blew my mind with all of the information he had.
It was then that I decided to go into the health field. I am now a senior(for 6 years, how pathetic) specializing in health promotions. I knew then, that i wanted to learn as much as possible about health and the human body.

Again, where did you aquire your base of info about Gear?

That's a great post stumpy... I first learned about it back in college over 12 years ago. This guy I trained with used to get fina pellets. We chewed on them like 3 times/day... Made some gains, but it's really a wonder...what a stupid fuck I was then. I would have done anything that guy recommended without asking why, or what the consequences were. It wasn't until I ran into the various board that sprung up a few years ago that I really started to know what the hell was going on (I still hardly know WTF is going on, LOL!). It seems like every year there are new studies, new strategies, etc, that keep advancing the science of using and getting results from AAS.

Thanks Bstrong. I remember reading about all of these gear products, but when i decided to do it, there was a problem. I couldn't get my hands on anything. I didn't know who had what. I wanted specific products and I quickly discovered that I was only gonna get what my source had at the time. And man how I got raped on prices. How was I to know.
I also read a lot about counterfeits at that time. That taught me a lot. Soon I became a "guru" to my friends who knew little about the subject. That fed my ego a bit, so I just wanted to keep learning, and I still am, everyday.

I think for me finding info was a bit more difficult. At the time I didn't have a computer, and there wasn't much info about the topic in publications. Seems to be a bit more acceptable now, as compared to 5-10 years ago.

After training a couple years at home, I was lucky enough to join a gym where quite a few competitive bodybuilders trained - several with pro ambition and potential, one had just turned pro and has consistently placed highly in the Mr. O ever since. So the clique I later fell in with were pretty knowledgeable. I got to meet a handful of top pros back then, who would train there when in town. I also read everything I could get a hold of. The best part of those times was that it was still permissible for an MD to prescribe gear for athletic purposes - try to imagine that. When the laws changed it was a big kick in the balls. When I did my first cycle, juice was pentiful, cheap, easy to obtain, and always legit. Syringes could be purchased right in the pharmacy within the grocery store. Bstrong, you gotta remember some of that, bro (if you're in the U.S. going back 12 years).

Over the last 4 1/2 years, I have read several University research articles. Read articles and info from Dan Duchaine, Paul Borreson, Dave Palumbo, Etc. Read every book I can find on the subject. Talked to pros, and quite a few endocrinologists (hormone/metabolism Drs) and other Drs. Read tons of stuff on the boards and Ezines. Pretty much put all of this stuff together, and came out with my own beliefs on them. Later

I first learned of all this from Dan Duchaine.....then I found this place through a website he was affiliated with (qfac.com).....once I came here (been a year now almost) I found 101, elite and all the other boards out there.

I learned about AS from my bro then I started to read forums kinda got addicted to them. Also testosterone.net was the first forum I read on steroids. There are some great guys over there, but there are tons of dumbasses as well since a supp company runs the site.
