Need explaination on Ketosis..

Ketones are the end products of fatty acid metabolism. The elevated levels of ketones in your blood when you selectivly burn fatty acids for fuel instead of glucose is called ketosis. The effect an your muscles is only indirectly related to this process. Hope that helps.
 
you will go into ketosis from the low blood sugar.  now listen to this.  your muscles use energy thru muscle glycogen.  by going into ketosis, you will be starving your muscles of this glycogen.  in turn you can lose muscle.  ketosis can also cause your body to dehydrate and lose vitamins and minerals.  by going on a ketogenic diet, make sure that it is for a short period.  jmo
 
Two very good, simple explanations of Keto. Except where Stumpy said "it can also cause your body to dehydrate", it should have said, "it WILL cause your body to dehydrate". There is no getting around dehydrating when on a CKD. You are going to piss more, and you are going to sweat more. All you can do is try your hardest to keep it from getting severe.  Because of the reasons stated by stumpy, you have to take extra vitamin and mineral suppliments, and drink a couple gals of water throughout the day, especially when training and doing cardio. ..a few other thoughts as well...a keto diet is very effective, but like napalm said already, it's best to do it for a short period of time.  I can only handle about 3 weeks personally.  When you come off, DON"T GO EAT A BUNCH OF PIZZA, BEER OR OTHER SHIT!  If you do, the rebound you experience will totally fuck the results you just worked your ass off for.  The first carbs you eat ideally should be ramped up over a few weeks and consist of complex carbs like whole grains or veggies... no sugar, pasta, refined flour products for a week or longer.  Up your carbs slowly and do it clean.  That way, you'll be really happy with the results.  Oh, one other thing, if you do a keto diet, they say you can eat whatever protein and fat you want like bacon, sausage, etc... That may be true, but if you down lots of those trans fats and get used to eating that greasy shit, it will be alot harder to eat clean when you come off the diet.
 
Stay clean on all diets. Atkins is  dumb, he is catering to the lazy when saying you can eat all that greay ass shit. Trans fats are horrible avoid them like the plague.
