Alot of people say Monoxidil (can't spell it!) helps reduce dht in the scalp. Most people loose hair in the front hair line. I read on the package that is only for people balding in the back of the head. So what's all the talk about this stuff. Any one who is balding in the front part of the scalp have good results? Also, I know all steroids will cause some hair loss. Cypionate or eq how bad are they? as bad as dbl?

I don't know the answers. I keep my head shaved anyway, and if I go bald that would be fine with me. Then I would not have to shave anymore...lol
But I wll give it a BUMP because now I would like to know the answer myself.

     Sorry

The studies were done with vertex(top of the head) pattern baldness. It will work at the hairline/forehead but because it is a transitional zone between scalp and forehead skin sometimes higher concentrations are needed for results. You can actually get a good pharmacist to compound a "custom" concentration fairly easily or even make your own from Minoxidil tabs(they are used for high bloodpressure). Propecia might be a good addition to the saw palmetto and Nizoral shampoo lathered on the scalp and left there for at least 5 minutes works well.

I started using Rogaine about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I have a general thinning throughout the top of my head. Nothing serious but still thinning. I am also taking test Enth. so I should be able to give you an answer on the hair issue in the near future.

Presser, you are not alone with your Nizoral experience. I run across a post every now and then on almost every board where someone says the nizoral caused their hair to thin at a rapid rate.

I am going to try the Saw and the Botanical shampoo though.

Presser,I think you were just unlucky....but as we see here over and over everyone doesn't react/respond the same way to the same drug. Nizoral's chemical structure is very steroidal, although it's primary use is antifungal/antidandruff,because of the chemical structure it will compete and bind to the cortisol and the Test/DHT receptors in the scalp. For most people this is favorable and slows hair loss by reducing local inflammation at the follicle and shutting out DHT from the receptor.
