i recently had a blood test done and my liver enzymes were 2 times the norm. I think its cuz of gear. My doctor tells me it could be anything and he thinks its cuz of a drinking binge i went on a week before the test. Any input?

Sounds like it could definitely be the combination of the two.  Binges and gear, are like women and herpes...they don't mix well!!!

well i was off the gear about 3 weeks when i went on the binge, drinking was celebrating a new job i really wanted. But the gear I was on was Slin GH and test. I am getting another blood test done soon. But am reasonably sure that was the problem. Just lookin for some input from other members.

The heavy binge is most likely the cause IMO. Your gear was all fairly liver friendly. The Tylenol and Ibuprofen used to cure the hangover can also affect liver enzymes. Keep in mind heavy training and IM injections both can release enzymes like SGOT into the blood (it's found in muscle tissue as well)so liver isn't always the sole sourse of the elevation. The enzyme Gamma Glutamyl Transferase(gGT) is more specific for liver as it is not found in muscle like SGOT is,so a gGT level is sometimes helpful in athletes to sort out the two. Measuring the levels for the second time, like your doing, is the right thing to do,then you'll know if it's going up or down. If it's coming down your in the clear.

If you drink alot, it can take a month for your liver enzymes to come back to normal again...that's if you don't have permanent damage.  If you quit drinking for a month and values are still high, then you'll have a problem.  Back a few years ago, I was drinking quite a bit...6-12 beers plus some shots every day.  I changed insurance companies and had to get bloodwork done.  My liver tests were fucked-up.  I quit drinking and scheduled the test for a month later.  The second test had slightly elevated enzymes, but still within the ok limits.
