I am close to there ballsout....i go to Bally's Total Fitness, i know some people don't consider that a good gym...but i like it.. One of my friends goes to World Gym and he likes it a lot.. I have another friend who goes to Gold's Gym...i don't know which one is more hardcore, but that's a few i know about...

There's BSC (Boston Sports Club) thats right by Milk Street in the financial district. I was there last month and it's better than those damn hotel fitness centers.
