A sterile oil abcess is one possibility. They usually go away with time. I'd think other problems like infection,etc would have gotten much worse by now.
The pain is not that bad but to still be noticable after almost 2 months has got me a little worried. I don't think it is an abcess because there is no lump and they hurt like hell. This is a dull pain only present when using it.
