Training the Neck

How can you train your neck. Being tall and thin my neck is too long for me. When I was on my cycle my neck looked really thick. I did not train it. Now it looks like it lost its size and is not as thick. Can you train your neck and how do you do it.
 
LOL, it was probably water retention and high BP that made your neck look big...LMAO, were your cheeks bigger too, like the godfather? Seriously, they have headgear/straps with a rope hanging off of it to secure weights available for doing neck lift/pull exercises. However, I don't see any reason to train those muscles unless you train them for strength like football players and wrestlers need to do. Instead, I'd say focus on building your upper traps with plenty of dumbell shrugs, behind the back shrugs, and upright rows. They recover pretty fast, so you can train the shit out o them twice a weak if you want to.
 
shrugs r good...but a good way to work your neck is to lay on a bench...facing up or down...have your partner give u some resistance pushing down...side to side ..that type of thing will work...
 
hehe, yeah, or you start giving blowjobs every day! Nasty! sorry I threw that in....man, my wife's neck is WAY too skinny...time for little neck-building!
 
Just go to the beach, and as you suffer 'Babe-lash' from frequent head turning - your neck will grow to bull-sized thickness!
 
Training the neck can be good, especially for sports as was mentioned.

I do a lot of kickboxing and we do a lot of neck work for obvious reasons: you need to be able to take a punch.

Here is what we do (and this is professional-grade training):
Lay on a bench or the hood of a car or the roof of a skyscraper so just your head is hanging over.

Begin laying on your back and let your head drop backwards until your neck is extended but not so far you crack your noggin' and knock yourself out and roll off the hood of your Camaro and into oncoming traffic.

THen, lift your head, touching your chin to your chest and repeat. Do a set of 15-20, building up to about 30 reps.

Then, turn on your side, do the same number reps, turn on your stomach, do another set, then on your other side, do a final set.

These four constitute one set.

Do this 3 times and your neck will definitley feel it. And if you're crazy and want to look like an ox, you can get one of those headstrap deals as was mentioned.
 
I dont know if it was water or not. I am sure a lot of it was. My face did not get puffy at all. It was probably my traps. When I started my cycle my neck was a 15 at the bottom and 15 at top. At the end of my cycle my neck was a 18 at the bottom and 15 at top. It has gone back to a 16 at the bottom. MB. What do you do behing the back shrugs with. A barbell?
