I think I injected glass

Last week i injected 1 cc sust and 2 cc of deca into each delt using 1.5" 21 gauge needle. My delts were so sore for the next 3 days, i could barely lift my arms. Now that the soreness has gone significantly since then, i went to the gym yesterday to do shoulders. As i was trying to do lateral raises, i felt a sharp pain in my left shoulder whereas my right one was fine. And i was wondering why only one shoulder would feel this way.... then i remembered that when i was breaking open the ampoules one of them did not break cleanly and there was a piece of glass inside the amp.... i looked at it carefully (under dim lighting though), and thought it would be fine to draw the oils in without a problem because the piece of glass looked too big to fit through the needle. Is it possible that i may have drawn up very small pieces of glass virtually invisible to the eye and injected them into myself?? CAn that explain the sharp feeling i have?? if so what can i do about it. My friend said that ampoule can't break into small enough pieces to be drawn up in the needle. Or did i just hit some nerve or something... is 1.5" needle too long to inject in delts? The most i can do right now is just wait to see if the sharp feeling goes away i guess. This has got me a little worried though. I'd appreciate any insight! .... eVo

If you have big enough delts I see no problem in injecting 1.5". My friend has been doing it for years. I highly doubt that you injected a piece of glass. I think that is just one of the many variables of injecting that is causing your pain. Sometimes I get pain in my delts and other times I don't when using Sus and EQ. Or it could just be the way you were training delts that day. If you are really worried go and see a doc and tell him what happened. Hope this helps

I highly doubt that it would have been drawn up or even if you popped the syringe off and poured your gear into the tube (why can't I think of the name) it could have been in the tube but would have clogged the pin not making it into your system. You would have had some serious infection setting in with a fever at least. I would go with it being more of your body reacting to the training (whether or not you've done it before) than a glass injection.

Just keep an eye on it and if you develop a fever or the like, seek some medical attention. Otherwise, give it a couple more days.

ok.. sorry for the scare! the sharp pain has gone done drastically in the last couple of days. It was my first time using a 22 gauge, whereas before i used 21 guage but switched since i found it difficult to draw the oils in. As an experiment, i just injected one glute with a 22 gauge and the other with a 21 gauge. The difference is major!!!

Its only been about ten minutes since injection!! And the glute with the 22 guage is throbbing with pain while i dont feel as much with the other one. Not to mention.. piercing skin with the 22 really hurt!!

If anyone asks.. i'd say 21 guage is the way to go!!

It would be interesting to know how you guys vary the needle sizes with different injection sites...... eVo

I stay with 23g and no pain at all -

Glad to hear the pain went away though.

sorry, i meant i perfer the 22 over the 21.. isn't the 23 a little difficult to push the oils thru. I'll give it a try next time.. i would like to go smaller diameter anyway.

eVo,
Actually with the 23, the oils are as easy to push through as the 22. With the slow and steady method a 23 is ideal.
