currently in ketosis, got question

Hey guys im currently on day 3 of a keto diet. Carbs below 20 gs last 3 days and now Im in. I plan on taking in normal carb amounts every 7th day. I read that it tricks your body into being more effective at burning calories. Im also getting around 180 gs of protein a day to keep muscle level. Just wondering what range is about normal to stay in ketosis. I read around 50 grms is usually okay on the carbs. plan on getting keto sticks soon. Let me know what you guys with experience usually do. Later bros and broettes. By the way down 7 pounds already.
 
Yes..it's good to carb up after 5-6 days in ketosis. After that long your body will accelerate the burning of muscle to compensate for no-carbs. So the carb up period is beneficial to help maintain lean mass.
I imagine 50 carbs a day is good but ketostix is really the only way to truly tell how much will keep you in ketosis.

Not sure in your aware of alpha lipoic acids ability to help achieve and maintain ketosis. ALA is insulin like.....in it's ability to shuttle glucose from the bloodstream into the muscle cells....and a smaller part into fat cells. The reduced prescence of glucose in the bloodstream allows your body to stay in ketosis....even when some carbs are eaten. Some ALA users have reported eating as much as 150-200 grams of carbs....and still achieving trace ketosis.
 
thanks for the reply. Good info. Read a little about ala. I know it is in that miracle drug cell tech.... you know the one that made lee priest who he is..... no nevermind that was hydroxy. Thanks for the info bro. Just kidding about the muscletech stuff.
