Alpha-lipoic acid question

I have been reading lots of ALA post and stuff sounds like a very good thing to take. Either im blind and missed it but what is the ammount one should take?
 
1000-1500 for liver protection (3xday @ 500) or 2500-3000 for liver and weight loss potential taken with the meal(s) that have the most carbs.
 
I'm one week post cycle (heavy bulking).

In the last week I've decreased my carb intake, started doing cardio, and am taking ALA 3,000 mg/day. Last cycle I started clen at this time.

I'm trying to do a comparison between ALA and clen for post cycle use. My thoughts are that it may be even better than clen for anti-catabolism. I'll update in two weeks on the results.
