Ya the guy that wrote this book it very to the point!!!
I agree with almost everything I have read so far
If more people woud go back to the heavy basics and lay off the fancy million rep almost 100%machine workouts they would be suprised at the results

About 3 weeks ago I started doing some sandbag work, its kicking my ass big time
pick the bag up with a bear hug and carry it until you drop, sand bag clean and press, pushpress .... 100 pound sandbag feels like a 225 pound bar.

back in the 50's my dad had a job one summer loading 100lb sacks of salt into railcars by hand. he never touched weights but was had serious strong back and work capacity could pick up 55gallon drums once carried an 800lb roll of carpet his coworker didnt show up so he drug it to the edge of the truck and balanced it on his back for and aft and walk it a short distance when he was done he thought his hart would explode so he checked to weight it was over 800lb he only weighd around 190

Good stuff porkhide! there is a big difference between being strong in the gym vs being strong (functional)
