Multivitamins/Vitamins

I use the multivitamin Supradyn by Roche Pharma and a multimineral called Total Mins by Country Life. I buy both at the pharmacy. Nothing here beats price and quality from the pharmacy.

What about multi's you can get from any supplement store like animal pak or some other...etc?? any good? overpriced? just as good as anyother pharmacy brand?

Flinstones, nothing like chewing on a Wilma and Betty first thing in the morning! I know I shouldn't double up on these things but I just love threesomes!

Just don't tell Fred and Barney!

Is that not what happens to most things you take orally? :D

A lot of these Multi-V things are REALLY LOW on dosages. You look on the back of the bottle and there is this huge list of all the ingredients but the amounts are almost nill. Like Vit-C 150mg's or Vit-A 50IU. It's so ridiculous. They think the bigger the list on the back of the bottle, no matter how insignificant of the dosage, the more people will think they have the better product. I'll buy the best one out there but still supplement with the extra specific Vit's and Minerals that I think are important to my body.

I heard a different "vitamin rumor"....I heard that the gel capsules digest more than regular pills before they are passed through your system. And by the time it goes through and passes, you only get like 30 or 40% of the dosage... Now I take a OneADay for Women which is a regular pill. Any shread of truth in the rumor?!

FitGirl.. what you are hearing is somewhat true but it goes more like this. The hard pills or tablets are time released meaning they are digested slower and are released into your system over say 3-4 hours. The Gel caps or capsules digest quickly and enter your system more rapidly than tablets. Therefore, a certain percentage (I don't know how much) is lost during the digestion and absorption when taking capsules. This was explained to me by a buddy of mine that owns a GNC and I was wondering why there was such a price difference in the capsules vs. tablets on GNC's Mega Men Multi's.
