yamaha yzf600

This is generally referred to as the best-all-around bike in the 600 class.

Being a 600, power is an issue--but it is so stylish I just wanna cruise in it---upright riding position---great comfort:

Sorry to burst your bubble RTC but it is more of a sport/touring. If you want the Yamaha....go with the R6. You won't regret it.

It is a lovely bike. I hope you enjoy it!!

They all say this and that... but in the end we are all different and each will like a different bike better.

When I buy a new one next year I'm gonna take all bikez in this categorie for a full day test and find out for myself which I like best.

oh yeah I know it's a street/sport/touring bike. I want a town bike--one I can take to the beach, coffee shop, and blast up into the mountains around Whistler on the weekends...

I could trick it out a little to get some more juice. But really I just want a fun machine that is low maintanance and easy on the shoulders. I got a severe case of rotator cuff impingement last year and I can't (can't!) be hunkered over on a pure sport bike--could get a FZ1 though--lotta power there--the r1 for the real world...

The yamaha YZF 600 is just the old yamaha 600 supersport bike. When they came out with the R6 they just kept making the YZF 600 because it was cheaper and they thought people could not afford the R6. The YZF dates back years. I am telling you right now. If you get a 600 get an R6 and not the YZF. You will be very dissapointed if you get the YZF. It is old technology and will just not be anything like the new bikes. Spend the extra money and get the R6.

Well if sore arms bother you, I won't recommed a 92-95 CBR900RR. That's what I ahd and after an hour on the highway I was ded. But it also depends on the size of you. Maybe try out a CBR600? ZX6R?

It all depends on your riding level and what you're looking for in a bike.

My 61 year old dad just tried one out and opted for a new Tryumph, He said the YZF had too much power for him. Nice lookin ride though!

My friends R-1 is extremely fast but its not all that comfortable to ride long distances. But he was gonna buy an R-6 originally and i told him that if he didn't get an R-1 then he would be pissed when they went whizzin by him on his R-6...I was right...........456

bro i know you know what you want, ever check out the suz sv650. If you aint into top speed and supper long wheelys, its a great all around bike. Ive owened both, wrecked the yzf. top ends around 146-150. on a good day top end on my sv is 130 everyday. never thought i would like a naked bike but i love it real torquey.

I think I will get the sv650. Fits me well, cheap. I am used to riding low and with V-twin torque....I think the sv650 is the bike for me...for now...Once I learn the bike and the warranty's done, I'll take it in and get it dyno'd. I was at the shop today. They tell me they can add 8 horses to it...It looks like the perfect bike for me. The 650 is so cheap and insurance is so cheap I can get a full set of vansons, new helmets, gloves and boots for me and my girl and still have 1000.00 left over.

out the door on fz1: 12500.00
out the door on sv650: 8500.00

and the sonofabitch slays my sportster when it comes to horsepower.

But i need some advice:

Should I buy now, or wait till the weather gets really shitty, around novemeber, and look for a deal...?
