I'm on 1000mg of tetracycline.

I have heard that antibiotics make gear far less effective...how dramatic is this effect?

I tried getting accutane but my doctor said it wasn't bad enough ...and to do this instead...

Gonna go see another dermatologist soon...

I've heard of many that say the antibiotics don't hinder gains from AS. Where did you hear this from?

I heard that somewhere as well and don't remember the place. I plan on hitting the derm sometime soon as this cycle is killing me big time and I better get accutane.

I heard that antibiotics hinder gains as well. but I've used tetracyclin during cycles before and have not notice any negitive effects on gains

Antibiotics do NOT hinder AS at all.

it makes birth control less effective, but it plays 0 part in AS effectiveness.

Most of my cycles have included Tetra at 1000mg and it hasn't hindered gains for me. But I can't really answer your question.

I have also heard that some antibiotics interfere with protein synthesis. However I've been on cycle whilst using antibiotics with no obvious negative effects, so never looked into it in detail.

To tell you the truth, I up my dosage when I am "on" to about 1500mg.

Tetracycline is a very strong chelating agent. It binds just about anything and takes it out of the game. When on it, docs recommend using additional birth control (other than the pill) cause it binds the estrogen (or progesterone dep on the pill). It can also decrease the effectiveness of many other drugs.
That being said, Im not sure if it will bind androgenic hormones or hinder 'gains' in any way. The PDR made no mention of its specificity. I would go with the anecdotal evidence like what Mac said. Its the best source of info.
