(SQUATS) Whats a good amount of weight?

no im being serious, i felt like i could have done 500lbs, but the last 3 reps my legs were a wobbling . felt like i was gonna throw up afterwards.

what do you mean bullshit ! footballcat i felt kind of sick right afterwards , but after i showered and eat i feel better.

bros i was just looking for some honest feedback because all my friends just do upper body stuff and i have nothing to really go by.

no one else does squats in your gym u can compare too?

and like Swollen said: are you being sarcastic? lol

ez.

I hear ya SC.....there are guys at my gym that do 4 plates a side, but I would lave to see them even do triple plate paralell.
But there is also a big difference if you are 6'2" @192lbs or 5'6" @192lbs.

no guys i work out at home, im 5' 7'. so nobody to really compare too. I go down to parallel. this was the only time doing legs that i could feel my legs burning. if i can walk by next week im going to try 500 lbs. also ive been working out for about 16 years.

You've been working out 16 years?! With that amount of experience you should have known that 420 @192 is pretty good.

Smells fishy, but good job (just in case this question was caused by a brain fart).

Damn bro, your in Ohio, better get into some powerliftin with those kind of numbers, Plenty of competitions right around where you are at there in Cleveland.

nd yesthat is a good squat. I am going to attempt a PR single tonight with around 440 and I weigh 260. You do the math.

Pump. Yes 400+ for 10 when you're less than 200 is very good. Matter a fact you got me beat. Currently I am stuck at 405 for 6 and I am 250. Since you're in Cleveland drop me a line. I can hook you up for some free passes into World gym. Lotsa big boys in there and a fair amout of power lifters. You really shouldn't be squating that much without a spotter anyway.

the best gains I get from squats are when I go about 70-80 of max...and go deep...i mean to the point where my ass is almost hitting the floor....

No flame intended at all...but my question is this... how do you squat 420 for reps? i mean, how did you choose that weight?

because if you have the bar at 45 lbs and 4 plates a side, thats 405. 420-405= 15 lbs. so to me it would look really funny to see 4 plates a side plus a 5 lb and 2.5 lb weight added to each side. if it were someones max, maybe so. unlees your gym has collars that weigh like 7.5 lbs each. most i have seen are 5 lbs or the wire ones at like 8 ozs.

anyway, not a flame, just the amount of weight doesn't make sense to me.

but what do i know?
