Hey all, I went to the local sport club last night because my Girlfriend has a sport membership and I dont. For those of you that don't know the sport clubs are bigger, and have pools, basketball courts, and some even have beach volleyball.

Well I was paying $21 a month for basic all club access, I always have been told it's 10 bucks more for the Sport membership. So we go in there and I tell the guy that's what I want.

As I'm sitting at the guys desk I read this sign that says "For New Members Only" $888 up front, pays for 3 years of all access, then After that it's $49 a year, for life!

I told the guy I wanted that deal, he said it was only for new members but I pushed a little and I got it, I'm sure that he got a big commission on it anyway, but that = out to only $24 a month for the first 3 years, but I never have a monthly payment, and after that it equals out to only $4.08 a month for life!!

They even threw in a personal Training package (free!) , a gym bag, a bottle of multivitamins, and 6 protein bars!!!

The guy did have to cancel my old membership and start a whole new one, had to use my work address and my middle name too, ha ha.

It felt like X-mas!!

If any of you guys are interested I know they have sales all the time, but I've never seen one like that and it's till tomorrow, the 25th

They are usually about ready to be bought out or go out of business.

I bought one once and company sold out within a year and new company would not honor contracts.

Besure to SHOP on your membership. All those places are after one thing $$$$$$.

IF you can become friends with a staff member and then see what they can work out for you. My last roommate did that for me I came out with a steal. He didn't care about the comission because I was a friend and his home was in my house. They make enough money off the idiots who sign up for 3 years and only for fo rthe first 3 months.

I totally agree that people should watch out for such occurances, however in this case, I really don't think 24Hour Fitness is going anywhere in my lifetime.

But you never know?

I got lucky, my company has a discount program through them in which they pay everything up front(deposit, etc) and all I have to do is pay the monthly fee of like $23.00 Month for the all-club access. Also, my roomate works for them too and he got me another all-access card that someone left up there so I can use it and save my $23! It's good to have friends

I moved the cars out of the garage and bought my own equipment..... noone is ever in my way and I don't have the hassel of going to the gym. Granted I need a few more things, but I have enought stuff to get the job done.

Personally, this is just me.. I need to go to a gym, I like the surroundings, the people, the vibe, the mirrors, the music, the variety of equipment. I need it to get me up and encuorage me to go all out.. maybe I'm just weak willed, but it works for me.
