Seems like were getting more and more attention these days... :(

This was posted at FB by Zagreus,

Taken from the September 2, 2002 issue of Business Week, article title:

THE UNDERGROUND WEB

The easy availability of drugs on the web proved deadly for Eric Perrin. An avid bodybuilder, Perrin bought some dinitrophenol, or DNP, over the internet last summer because it was supposed to help him lose weight and get better muscle definition. While DNP is promoted on some fitness Web sites, its illegal to sell for human consumption. The chemical is legal only for use in industrial applications such as a coating on railroad ties to kill fungus. In humans, DNP can shut down the liver, kidney, and central nervous system. Last August, Perrin took DNP for several days. As his body temperature began to rise and his heart started to race, his mother, Barbara, grew concerned. “He told me, “Don’t worry, Mom, Ill be allright,” she says. “He was in a lot of pain.” Eric died on August 6, at a hospital near his home in Baldwin, N.Y. He was 22.

While the local U.S. Attorney is prosecuting the man who allegedly sold Eric Perrin the DNP, Barbara Perrinn thinks the dealer isn’t the real culprit. She places most the blame on the Internet and Elite Fitness, a New York company that runs the web site where her son read about the supposed benefits of DNP and got in touch with the dealer. She is convinced that without the web, her son would be alive today. “DNP is not something you find easily,” she says. Without the internet, “Eric may have gotten steroids, but not DNP.’

Even today , Elite fitness provides what appears to be a forum for people to meet who are interested in drugs. With a quick search of the site, Business Week found dozens of postings from bodybuilders promoting the benefits of DNP, explaining how to use the drug, and downplaying its health risks. Also a moderator posted ground rules for members to communicate in private so they could share information about “sources.” And members write that the best way to check out a source for restricted drugs is to e-mail a moderator.

The article continues, you all get the picture. Mothers can really rally the FEDS!!!!!!!
Any thoughts on how this will effect us???????????????????????????????????????

Not good in a couple ways. First sucks the guy died from DNP. Second it is going to draw attention to the boards around the web. Play it safe everyone!

i think i read somewhere the source is getting suid for wrongful death.. or something like that... or maybe george himself.. not sure.. but DNP.. isn't something i tell people to use.. i think there is alot of different things a guy/gal can use to get the same results without the sides.. it kind of like slin.. really no one should use it... IMHO

DNP is not worth the risks! Sure you can be smart and careful but I couldn't recommend it to anyone. I would feel bad if they messed up and killed themselves with it.

I would never use it.... :( course I won't say that about slin :D

I was reading about this over at elite awhile back and they said that perrin was also using extacy and methamphetamines. I do not know if he was taking dnp and the previously mentioned drugs at the same time or not, but IMHO this shows he was not that smart to begin with.

This the case in most of the stories the media sells us. They always bash on some drug, but always forget to mention what other drugs have been used.

And what was his dosage? If he read well at Elite he should have known not to overdo it. But if he was on XTC and shit like that, I doubt it if he got the picture.

i fucking hate that shit--it sucks that he died, but we don't have a background how much and what else he took--articles like that kill it for everyone else--my advice--becareful and be aware of what you stick in yourself

Any cornhole can drop dead when misusing even the safest product. Not as if DNP is real safe stuff anyways but give a stupid kid a bottle of tylenol and some vitamin C and see if they dont end up in the hospital with kidney and liver damage.

People need to take responsibility for themselves. And parents need to take responsibility for their stupid kids.

Basically guys it comes down too some kid who probably researched for 1 month or a very short period of time and eventually took the advice of people who most likley had no damn clue what they are talking about  It really pisses me off to see some kids life in the hands of some idiot who probably lured this poor kid into belive DNP was the easy way out.
Although common sense should play an important role in your decision making proccess sometimes the thought of something played out to be so wonderfull will get the best of you and it appears it has happened here.

Like i always tell everyone do your research and dont always take advice of some novice trying to come off as a pro. Get opinions from a wide range of people who really know what they are talking about.

Everyone please be carefull out there, back in the day things where much diffrent. :(

well it seems to me to be the mothers fault if she didn't have the
NET in her house then her son would be alive plus this leads me to believe that she knew and was ok with him useing steroids up untill he died
ppl always want the blame to be somewhere other that themselves she need to blame herself and her stupid son he made the decision not anybody else ppl take responsibilty for your actions
