half the sets I usually do

I usually do about 12 sets for each muscle. I read somewhere that if you are a hardgainer like me, then you will see much better results doing 6 sets per bodypart. Has anyone done something like this? I dunno if its BS, so I just need a little advice. Any info is much appreciated.

I don't know if 6 sets per body part is your "magic #" all you can do is try. You could start at 6 sets for a few weeks or a month to see if you begin to make more gains then you were at 12 sets. If not up the sets a few until you find out what works best for you.

I'm not sure on your question. Do you mean for chest for example that you do 12sets of flat, 12 sets of incline and 12 sets of flies? Or do you mean that you do 3 exercises of 4 sets each for a total of 12 sets?

...i think he means 3 or 4 exercises for 3 or 4 sets each...it depends on if you include warm ups and such...i go more like SC with about 3-5 working sets per/bp...what does your routine look like?...

I OVERTRAINED FOR YEARS, FINALLY CUT BACK ON SETS AND I'M SEEING BETTER RESULTS. YOU DEFINITELY GOTTA VARY THE NUMBER OF SETS. EVERY NOW AND THAN DOING A WORKOUT WITH 8-10 SETS CAN SERVE TO SHOCK THE MUSCLE

damn, im pretty much a beginner, and Ive spent the past 3 years thinkin to do at least 12 sets per bodypart. preciate the info i think ill give it a shot
