huge upperbody and no legs

Does this bother you guys? There are a couple guys where I work out with 20 inch arms with pencil legs. Always working upper body and no lower but walk around like they are God's gift. I guess it just aggravates me... I love working legs. A good bro of mine has been working out 2 years and may have worked legs twice. Huge chest, works it twice a week and pitiful legs. He is very nonsymetrical. Just my 2 cents. let me know
 
There's this one guy at my gym we call "Johnny bench press". 3-4 times a week is flat bar chest workouts and sometimes he throws in some shoulders but that's it! And he loves a show when he benchs too.
 
it's probably due to the fact that leg workout are uncomfortable. It takes a while for me to feel normal after a leg workout. I have come very close to puking on many occassions.

by the way, my legs aren't big but I still include them. They are coming around though.
 
You have to be hardcore to work your legs every week. Last night I did squats and at one point I thought I was going to pass out. But like you say it's easy to see who puts in the work and who doesn't.
 
Yup it's a commong thing. Most people just don't have leg workouts. I'm the other way around, I rather like leg workouts over upper body workouts!
 
A lot of people I work out with fall into that same trap – they get lazy and skip it or shorten the workout. I moved my legs workout to early in the week last year so I don’t have any excuses. It is nice to get them out of the way up front. Considering I go nuts on them it takes me a few days to recover.

Someone told me a while back (can't remember who or where) that you can put on 5-10lbs by NOT skipping legs. Legs are the base ---- He was right, you gotta learn to love it. :)
 
I was going to start this thread myself. I did legs on Monday and it came to me that in the 5 months I have been working out at this gym I have not seen one single serious leg workout. I have seen a couple people do 2 sets of 1/4 range of motion leg press and then go do some leg extensions but thats it. I do work out kinda late and miss the busy time, but I workout on the weekend and you would think I would run into someone. It is stupid, if I were ever that bad symetrically I hope someone would come up and slap me right in the face. I sound kinda pissed off about this whole thing -lol.
You want to hear another of my pet peeves. These guys that walk around with softball sized calves who have never done a calf raise in their life. It just ain't fair!
 
If you want to be big, you have to have tree trunk legs. How else does a large tree stay standing. Ever seen the Great Redwoods?

Leg workouts are not for people with weak stomachs or low tolerances for pain. On squat night check your panties at the door, shut the f-up and squat.

Right. The base is normally bigger than the top (that goes for most). This provides a stable foundation.

I dont understand why these guys bother everyone so much. I'd rather they keep off my sqaut rack!!! I get a chuckle out of these types of guys (guess they love wearing pants :D ). I dont have huge legs, but I'm drinking milk :p ...and someday...

Squat Racks=Sqaut Yaks(throw up, not the animal :D ) , but there's a price to pay for everything.
 
I really despise leg days. Most guys workout their upper body because you are more likely to get comments on arms, chest, shoulders, etc... I just force myself through it once a week. 5-6 sets of squats and some calf raises do me fine.
 
its a common thing--i train a couple of college freshman that want to be "big and buff" for the ladies but hate leg workouts---no one knows what symmetry is--sad
 
I DONT KNOW IF YOU GUYS KNOW OR NOT...BUT AFTER HIGH SCHOOL I WAS HIT BY A DRUNK DRIVER AND HAVE NERVE DAMAGE ON MY LEFT SIDE. THATS WHY MY UPPER BODY LACKS IN SIZE CUZ I CANT DO HEAVY WEIGHT.

BUT I DO BLOW MY LEGS OUT TILL I ALMOST PUKE 2 TIMES A WEEK. MINE ARE STARTING TO GE THERE.

I THINK IM ALMOST THE OPPOSITE OF THIS THREAD, BIG LEGS WITH SMALLER UPPER BODY. I TRY TO KEEP MY LEGS AND ABS TURNING HEADS.

oh you mean the guys who were pants when it is 100 degrees out. . . . i got fags like this at my gym. . . . i like to fuk with them too!!! this one guy we call him "beast" huge chest, big arms and pus*y legs, his wifes legs are bigger than his. . . its horrible, well quite funny
 
I dont like working legs a whole lot but I do just because they are my strongest bodypart and just seems like a waste to neglect them. The guys with the pencil legs look stupid, keg on stilts. Everybody work your legs!

I did TONS of legs all through Highschool and College for football I loved doing squats, cuz at the time I was doing alot compared to everyone else. My legs got to be pretty big, and my ass has always been known as a portable drink stand cuz it sticks out so far.

Well I screwed my lower back up a couple years ago and havn't been able to do squats since, and In the last 6 months I've been working out with a guy who doesnt do legs....

Last week my girlfriend commented that my legs and my ass don't look like they used to especially since my upperbody is getting bigger...

Well I hit my legs hard Saturday, still sore... but I'm overdue!
