I have a power lifter look going but want to have the shredded look. I have cleaned my diet up quiet a bit and it's working but I don't think my genes will cooperate with me. I have thought about added ala in 2.5-3 grams a day. Heard it can help. What other things could I do? I know I need to do more cardio. I always slack in that department. Another thing in high school I wrestle and was in great shape. I never had the shredded look then either. So am I doomed? My next cycle over the fall I want to bulk like no other. Just want to lose some more body fat before.

Bro, you can't bulk and cut at the same time, or in reverse order, imo.

Wait till fall, hit your mass cycle hard, EAT HEAVY...

...then, when that is done, you can diet and cardio down to where you want to be.

Hey Bro,

I generally cut without any cardio, it's all about caloric balance, and eating a low GI diet. You need to count calories and gms of macronutrients.

I can hook you up with a starting diet, What do you weigh and what do you estimate your current bf leves are?

Here's what I do when cutting...cardio 3-4 times a week for a 1/2 hour (I like running on the treadmill) and I'm extremely strict in avoiding all fatty/sugary foods. But I still eat a lot of protein (250-300 ED) and carbs (350-400 ED).

Hey Bro,

Here's a 12 cal per lb diet that should get you started. Try this for a couple weeks and see how you do. If you're losing too fast (or not fast enough) we can adjust.

There's really a lot of foods that you can have,

1. for the vegetables stay away from corn, carrots, peas and lima beans. A big salad is fine too.

2. for the black beans you can substitute red beans, white beans, pinto beans, etc.... there all about the same. You just need to stay away from the baked beans with all the sugar.

3. For the meats, you can use turkey breast in place of chicken, cans of tuna or any light fish in place of whitefish (flounder, haddock, cod, etc) , any VERY LEAN red meat (pork tenderloin, bison, trimed leg of lamb) in place of the top round steak, and any deep water fish in place of salmon (fresh tuna, swordfish, mako shark)

4. Read labels bro, stay off sugars!

5. You can convert the oatmeal/protein breakfast into a shake by grinding up the oats

6. Pay attention to post workout nutrition, it really does matter,

7. No condiments allowed (usually full of sugar and fat), well.... a bit of mustard or some vinager is fine....

THAT LOOKS ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE MY INITIAL CUTTING DIET, BEFORE I START TO CUT BACK ON CARBS BY TAKING THEM OUT OF MY LAST 2 OR 3 MEALS.

This is some of the best dietary advice that I have seen laid out. The diet is real similar to the one that I used to pull off a pretty fair amount of weight. I can't impress enough the importance of spreadsheeting out everything. Planning meals in advance and controlling calories is the only way a natural endomorph is going to succeed.
