1) clean bathrooms
2) fix stuff when it breaks
3) friendly staff
4) NO FIGHTING
5) low volume music or TV's

and i know owners can't control all those but if someone leave a towel in the lockerroom that's OK.. but clean the dam rooms..

anyone else have to put up with this at there gyms??

Mine are geared more towards the gym members:

6) B O is one thing, but at least shower semi regularly so you don't smell like cheese.

7) Don't load/unload plates on the equipment while I'm using it (like reach in and put weight on the squat rack...)

8) If you come to the gym to talk, that's fine, just don't camp out on equipment while talking.

and for the owners/staff:

9) Don't spray smelly chemicals near the cardio equipment unless you want me puking all over the place

10) At least attempt to keep equiptment where it's supposed to go, and think a little about where some equipment should go. My gym just put the squat rack 2 feet from the bathroom door and water fountains.

Good points Al...

my gym is awesome with the cleaning, they always have this foreign lady cleaning constantly every time I'm there, big change from most gyms I've been in...

The equipment is great, we're just missing a few things like a T bar row and a cable row for back, I heard they had a T bar but took it out with the squat rack (which they later replaced) to discourage the muscleheads from running the place. (It worked, unfortunately).

The music has always sucked...like pop and shit...but someone's been playing better stuff recently, like the new remix CD from Linkin Park...that gets me hyped! :D

But the thing I like the most is...it's rarely overcrouded...majority of people there are using the cardio stuff.

My old gym did not even have a water fountain in it. The owner took it out so the members would have to buy his $2 bottled water. Also the locker room smelled like piss and there were no showers. Needless to say, I left that place as soon as I can and signed up at World Gym where it is great.

there's a brand new Gold's in west boca.... 23usd month to month.. but it really does matter because there always some guy that thinks it cool to go eat at Popeye's and drop a 12 pounder in the stool and use like three rolls and doesn't flush it... hate those people that do stuff like that.

I have the same problem with the 120s thing ... In my case, I doubt there's much hope of getting bigger DBs :(

i lift at the gold's in Battle Creek MI. Its pretty nice setup, quite a few good looking ladies walking around, and if i work out late at night i basically am the only one there so music is my choice.

Have to give my Gym owner credit.

He constantly has the staff dusting
Cleans the restrooms (he has to use it too)
Has a GREAT staff, been there a year and only one new staff member
Hell he even supplies towles.

One Girl was getting ready for a competition and the electric was out at 4:30AM. He parked his Truck up on the sidwalk (gym is in a strip mall) and shined the lights into the building so she could lift. WHAT A GUY!

mismatched weights... once u get to the higher numbers we only have one pair.

sometimes the match in the pair is on the other side of the gym far from the free weights area. wtf? someone tried to modify a machine or something...

I envy you guys and your 120 lb dumbbells. My gym goes up to 100 (and the 90's have been missing for the 2 years I've been going). They are supposed to get some higher bells, but if they don't, it will be the reason I don't renew.

wipe the nasty sweat/gel off the bench when your done.keep the bathroom/shower stall clean.put the weights away when done.this may sound corney, but at least have the hot-tub close to the right temp.(sore muscles need soaking)

oh yea, I WISH I COULD CURL 120 LB.DUMB BELL! LOL

My gym is not to bad but it is over a 30 mile trip one way to go. Since I got off my cycle I have found that I have been going less and less, especially since my gf moved in. Now it is down to like 2-3 a week. I know I am a big pu$$y. But on the bright side I think I have talked myself into turning my unfinished basement into a gym.
