Chest pain

I was in the gym today doing straight leg deads for my hamstrings. I was on my last set at the heaviest weight (405) and when I completed my set I had a sharp pain in my lower rib cage. It starts under my lower right pec and continues across my sternum to the left side. It confined to the lower portion only. It kinda felt like I took a football helmet to the chest and got the wind knocked out o me. Most of the sharp pain is gone now but if I breath deep, cough or laugh it hurts. What the hell could I have strained in my rib cage???

I broke some cartiliage that was between my ribs doing squats the belt slid on top of my ribs then snapped under it still hurts sometimes 4-5 months later.
 
hey bro that is exactly what happened to me a while back ago. go and get checked up but from what i think u just need some extra rest take two weeks off.
 
take a week off and see how u feel, if u feel better get back in the gym...if the pain is still there take another week off or until you are healed!!
 
Thanks guy's I appreciate the advice but there is no way I am taking time off mid cycle. I am feeling somewhat better today. Tonight is my usual night off so I should be OK by tomorrow. Besides Presser colapsing a lung makes me look like a pussy posting this...lol

careful with that one...... you may want to have it looked at if the pain is still there after a few days
