A friend of mine went to Italy and was supposed to bring some ephedrine. She asked this at the pharmacy (I wrote it down) and she didn't pay attention to what she got. Anyway what I got is a couple of boxes of pseudoephedrine and I don't know shit about what that is or what it does? Any info is welcome.

Does it have the same effect as E? I always thought it was used in cough syrop and that it makes you drowsy.

your nose will never be clogged again:

Why is this medication prescribed?
Pseudoephedrine, a decongestant, relieves nasal discomfort caused by colds, allergies, and hay fever. It relieves stuffy nose, opens nasal airways, and drains sinuses.

This medication is sometimes prescribed for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

How should this medicine be used?
Pseudoephedrine comes as a regular tablet and capsule, extended-release (long-acting) tablet and capsule, liquid, and drops for children to take by mouth. It usually is taken every 4-6 hours or every 12 hours (extended-release tablets and capsules). To help prevent trouble sleeping, take the last dose of the day several hours before bedtime. Follow the directions on the package label or on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take pseudoephedrine exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.

Do not break, crush, or chew extended-release tablets and do not open extended-release capsules; swallow them whole.

Do not give extended-release tablets or capsules to children younger than 12 years of age.

So can I use in instead of real E as a workout boost or not?

E is not the same as pseudoephedrine. PsE will also tend to make you jittery if you OD on it but Im not sure if you're going to get the same boost to your metabolism from it. Also, most companies add an antihistamine or other agent to help you sleep while youre on PsE since most people take it when they have a cold. Your nose and chest will be damn clear of any snot though. I guess thats good.

So as far as I needed some E for my ECA stack this stuff is worthless?

Sorry man, but I would really recommend you get some real E rather than what you got. Keep the other stuff for when your allergies kick in or if you get a cold.

Could it pass as a sleeping aid?

Presser you suck man. Never fail to make me laugh.
Stefke, it could only if it has something in it to do so. Pseudoephedrine is also an adrenergic agonist (like E) but it is specific to the respiratory system. You get vasoconstriction (alpha receptor) and bronchial dilation (beta receptor). There is slight crossover where you MAY get temporary tachycardia (so possibly useful if you happen to be in the minority that reacts that way.
As far as sleepiness, some people experience excitability while some become drowsy. The severity is dose dependent but you cant tell which will happen. It does slightly depress the CNS.

I wouldn't use it as a replacement for E. Too many factors (ingredients) that you don't need and could hinder more than help.

Go with the real E and save the pseudo's for if you get sick

it's just a decongestant. It does raise heart rate, but I don't think it's significant.
