Who goes to a Chiropracter here? Pros and cons? I went to one for a while and always felt better afterwardds but my damn insurance doesnt cover it and at 35 a pop..

Had shoulder problems and coudnt incline bench.. went to Chiropracter and he fixed me... So for me + result.

I've always been afraid that it'd be one of those things where when you go once, you kind of have to keep going. Also, I've never really felt a need...

I have hypermobile joints and go to a chiro 4-5 times a year. Really helpfull, als pros no cons. You could get cons if you go to frequently.

I have gone from time to time, I think they are great. Like others said, you gotta draw the line though somethimes as to how often you go back.

puck i go like 3 times a year ,but all the time a go, whit alot fo pain and get out whit a happy face.
what ever takes the fuking pain a way for me.

I am currently going to school for chiropractic and it is true IMHO that a lot of chiros keep the patients coming back more than needed......but....PROPER chiro therapy is extremely helpful. Think about it, your spinal cord which is housed by your spinal column(vertebraes) is basically a giant information highway to the brain w/thousands of side streets(nerves). If a vertebra gets out of place and pinches a nerve it can cause all sorts of problems. Your cutting of access for vital information to the brain.

I thought they were all quacks and last year, I messed up my back pretty bad. Bed ridden and almost in tears from pain. I took flexaryl for two days and was able to walk. I walked my ass straight to the chiro. They did me right.

I go every once in a while, have a couple of rib ends that pop out occasionaly, they hurt and feel like some one stabbed me in the back, sucks the wind out of me ,hard and painful to breath, my Chiropractor has to put his full weight into the force that he applies to pop them back in,and hes a pretty big guy, cant workout for 1-2 days afterward due to soreness and his recommendations,Fluk it hurts when he adjusts me!

I probably would have killed myself if I didn't have a chiropractor.

20 years ago I was a truck driver, and hit a huge pothole that totally phucked up my neck. I saw in quadruplicate, lost all feeling in my arms, went dizzy and nauseas, and felt like a knife was sticking in my head. The only thing that cured me - usually within minutes - was a good chiro who knew how to do neck/head manual adjustments.

Last Thanksgiving, I slept in a strange bed and my neck slipped out again...I was on the floor in fetal position for most fo the day, in so much pain I couldn't bear to move. Every odor, every sensation, even the light going on -hurt like hell. My mom-in-law is a nurse, and gave me a ton of "good" prescription drugs, and nothing worked. They finally found a chiro willing to take me in for an emergency adjustment. They carried me in to his office, he knew right away that my "C1" and Occiput were twisted in *opposite* directions, and adjusted me.

Within 1 hour, I was back to normal. I mean it when I say i couldn't bear to live with out a good chiro near by.

I think everyone has summed it up. A good Chiro is a life saver. There are some that want you back 3 times a week for the next six months. Your best bet is to get references. I've had the same one for 13 years. All pros and no cons. Except the waiting time in the office.

Chiros . . . I've worked with hundred or more chiros. One of my past vocations was a personal injury trial attorney and among other areas of practice, I handled accident / injury cases. Everyone went to the chiro. HOWEVER, as some noted above, "bad" chiros will milk you and not get you better quickly on purpose. They prey on hypochondriacs and those with emotional issues. The good ones, well, their just good. They'll go in, handle their business, and send you on your way. Get good references, or don't go.

I have a broken c-5 from high school football. I only go every now and again to a chiro.
